Prince and Steve Martin Confirmed For SNL

Prince is confirmed to appear on Saturday Night Live this February during the shows only February broadcast. Steve Martin is schedule to host the show. The show is set to air live, February 4, 11:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. This will be Steve Martin's 14th time hosting the show. Steve Martin is doing promotion because his latest film The Pink Panther starring Kevin Kline and Beyonce is due in theaters in February. Steve Martin starred in a string of movies during the 80's and early 90's including Parenthood, The Three Amigos, and Father of the Bride.

Price was huge in the 80's no doubt about it. His groundbreaking movie Purple Rain helped to solidify him as an international star. The film was a big hit and Prince won numerous awards for the films soundtrack. The hits continued for Prince in the 80's. His biggest hits of the decade include "1999," "Let's Go Crazy," "Rasberry Beret," "Kiss," "Sign O'The Times," and "Alphabet Street."

Prince, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is set to follow up his two time Grammy Award winning album Musicology with 3121. The video for the albums first single "Te Amo Corazon" debuted in December.

I Love SNL. I once heard how they "pick" the skits they are doing each week. They have the "guest" sit down while the players perform the skits, and the skits are given the thumbs up or down by the guest. However, I wonder who the guest actually is? Is it steve or prince? Is prince going to be the musical talent for the show?

Needless to say, it will be one of the mosted desired watchables in many many moons for me.

Maybe we should do a Prince Spot Post because these type shows are not very often a singular event.

Prince cancelled an appearance since 89 - David Spade tried to smear Prince with some kind of weird message to Prince on the show that Prince cancelled. Real hatefull. I have disliked David Spade ever since.

I bet they have the Prince show BUT he will kind of make a small appearance at the end, kind of like Joe Pesci did for "The Joe Pesci" show. "Beyonce" will say something like "Prince says that's all the time we have for the Prince show" but then P himself will walk out, and the audience will roar. And he'll go over to Fred and put his hand on his shoulder and say a little something. I didn't know Check On It was from Pink Panther, maybe she'll appear too to do the same to Maya. Maybe a collaboration on some song?

VERY cool news, I LOVE SNL and have seen countless episodes. But Feb 4th is the big 2-1 for me!!!!! I really wanna watch but it's not gonna happen... I'll definitely tape it though.
