BRING ON THE HATE! Bring it on then - it's still a toss album.

Chaos and Disorder is top shelf material, with the exception of maybe I Rock Therfore I Am. But the title alone makes it more worth while than Daddy Pop. All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone.

I like Chaos and Disorder. It's a really fun album and pretty ideal for playing really loudly when you're really pissed off.

CHAOS AND DISORDER
This album has no great cuts, only In2 the light and Dinner with Delores are average, the rest is filler crap, but its deliberate, Princes heart was in this set. Its nothing new on his previous album, spacing it between Gold Experience and Emancipation two good records wasnt that great a move either. Chaos probably scared a lot of people off him. This was the work of something imitating themselves badly, yet its Prince and I would still give it 3 out of 10 Dishonourable mention. All albums New Power soul to N.E.W.S 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince

Mine are:
For You: with the exception of In Love, Soft and Wet and Just As Long As Were Together, it doesn't do anything for me Rave Un2 and In2: very bland N.E.W.S: don't listen to it at all ONA Live: same as N.E.W.S. New Power Soul: the worst of the worst. Brotha wasn't thinking when he did this album. The One and Come On are the only ones I can deal with but it's pure rotten cheese I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

1st = Emancipation
* 3 x discs too many. It's like he was trying 2 prove 2 the world he can do anything but it failed. It should have been a single cd with some b sides. I totally agree with Nasalhair's comments that so much 4 the album he was born 2 make. It also get's worse with age, which is scary ! 2nd = Rave * Just a bunch of uninspired tunes that sound lifeless and 'tinny'. It's got some nice tracks but nothing mindblowing which u always get from a P record. 3rd = The Rainbow Children * I still don't get this album. I dont understand what he's talking about, I like the 'live' sound of the CD and it has some funky tunes like 1+1 etc but i can't dig the preaching! I can't add NPS as I don't put the NPG's shit in the category of a 'new Prince album'. This cd is really just 4 the fans and it sucks bigtime ! I just can't believe all the things people say !

I agree with virtually everyone here. The albums mentioned were horrible. Particularly bad were New Power Soul, The Rainbow Children, News and Chaos and Disorder! Just beneath the man. Prince kind of reminded me of Anne Rice when she refused to have an editor to her work. The result was a substandard product. We need editors and outside people to keep us in check..to tell us when we've missed the mark. But I digress.
The only album selection that floored me was LoveSexy. Though not a masterpiece, you can listen to it without gagging. Some of the songs, if not exceptional, were at least fun to hear. Ana Stesia is just a phenomenal composition! It's on a par with 7. Hell, I would re-release this song. It's just too good to have been ignored by the masses. Glam Slam was cool

I know tons of people that used to be into Prince heavily but this album drove them away for good because it had classical music on it. I hear from people all the time...."Does Prince still do that nerdy classical shit?" I have no problem with people saying that because it pissed me off when he did it also. I simply respond by saying "He still does every now and then and he's even done dull accoustical stuff and tired ass rap since then. I agree that he lost his damn mind after "Purple Rain" but he still puts out jams every now and then when he wants to". I've found that if you agree with something the non-fans are saying, don't be afraid to tell them. It shows them that even though you are a Prince fan, you are still an individual yourself with your own tastes and dislikes instead of just what Prince's are. thanks for the response. curious, tho, which jams u're talking about. If you actually attended all aftershows from which the album is assembled, I'm quite jealous indeed! On Joy In Repetition, Larry Graham's bass is unfortunately quite intrusive. Musiq is completely out of place, off-tune, and manages to ruin Prince's little guitar solo. The remaining tracks show little resemblance to the original tracks, and are repetitive, dull and boring (at least on record) jams. As I said before, "It Ain't Over" is worth listening for "Dorothy Parker" only, in my opinion. anybody thinks this looks like a cheap trick album cover???

There's a surprising lot of consensus on here (with some exceptions).
1. Rave - My most cringey and disapppointing 2. NPS = 2nd most, but occasionally listenable I don't own D&P any more, but it does have some gr8 trax (anx mentioned 'em), and I did like it for a while when it came out (NEVER liked Money or Jughead. Why does Money have so many supporters here? It's so MOR!). Emancipation is the most mediocre, but there's some brilliant songwriting there. I agree ONA-Live is disappointing, but a mediocre Prince live album is still one of the best live recordings by an artist... actually, maybe not. "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

My least favorite album has got to be, "Come". Everytime I hear it, I cringe. There is something about that album that just does not click with me. [Edited 11/19/05 10:34am] "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"
