Anna Stesia was the name of a Russian Princess...who was told should have lived but nobody really knew for sure..she was a mystery...could Prince have use her name to refer to his ultimate Female (anima if u no about c.g. jung)...a Princess who nobody knows for sure exist?

The rebirth connection seems to make sense as well....in any case Anna Stesia for sure is the climax song in the whole Lovesexy experience...the true lovesexy experience ofcourse is the lovesexy live tour...where we see the transformation of the old Prince (black album) to the new Prince (lovesexy album)...

too bad he didnt couple the black album with the lovesexy album..into a 3 disc album...it would have made more impact and would have put him into a different category..now most critics and outsiders have not understood the significance of these albums. The significance ofcourse lies in the fact that an ultimate human spiritual experience is expressed by a multi talented artist. Not shown in any way before by any other artist.....

this lovesexy live tour is my favourite tour and music album...and Anna Stesia is the climax song....

Anna Stesia obviously comes from the Greek word Anastacia. Not only does it mean rebirth but it is used in Greek Orthodox tradition at Easter time for the ressurection of Christ. Any Prince fan will know that the song/Lovesexy album and the Lovesexy tour were all about the cleansing of Prince's soul and as he has many times before and since-compared it to the ressurection of Christ.

pronounced it as "anna stesia" not "anaesthesia" -- personally, I don't like anaesthesia, the stuff makes me ill, so maybe that's why I'm blocking out that pronunciation? lol

I like to take this song literally as Prince's telling of that night when he decided to cancel the Black Album demon
