I love it. Although it would be nice if they put the other songs on the soundtrack that are missing like Morris's stuff. Edmonton, AB - |

Anyone ever fall asleep with Purple Rain playing on repeat? I highly recommend it. "Darlin' Nikki" will give you some kinky dreams.

There's some truly classic stuff on there but it isn't my favorite by a long chalk. I prefer the more experimental stuff like Parade or Sign O The Times. 'tobacco is my vegetable'~ Frank Zappa

It's a great album but it's not my favorite. "1999" is my favorite and "Purple Rain" sounds like a weaker version of it.

it was my favorite for a long time, mainly because i thought - and still think - every song on there is a perfect pop/rock song. after so many years, though, i've gotten really really really burnt out on it...these days, i'd say my favorite is either SOTT or Parade (with the "Come" album a very close second).

Not mine!

As I said before, the only thing wrong with the album is that familiarity breeds contempt. And everybody is familiar with PR more than any other album by default of mainstream popularity. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

I've said it over and over again...the perfect album.
MJ was a brilliant singer/dancer...best of all time, however, that's all he was. Let's not compare him to Prince, best musician of all time, but rather, compare him to someone like Sammy Davis Jr (who I don't hear anyone calling a musical genius).

I think that Purple Rain is Prince's most listenable LP to casual and non-fanatic fans, thus it would be their favorite. My love for Prince music has always been it's ability to intergrate and wallow in diverse sounds. This being said I would always say SOTT and Parade are my favorite LPs with TRC and 1999 following...but to each his own it's all good u know, what ever U like and such.....

As I dug deeper into his resume, it sank down my list and was replaced by the likes of Sign 'O' the Times, Lovesexy, Parade, Dirty Mind and ATWIAD. Ooh, little darlin' if you're

Purple Rain & 1999 r my favorite albums. I cant sleep without Purple Rain playing, so on school nights when Im not aloud 2 listen 2 it I dont sleep. But I could never pick between Purpl Rain & 1999 that would be 2 hard. "There's only three things for sure in life. Yes. My absolute favorite. Tightly edited. Experimental for the time. A great mix of songs. The movie just put it over the top, but the album is one of the all-time greatest pop albums of all time.
