Prince gives $30,000 to my son's elementary school

My son goes to Chanhassen Elementary School in Chanhassen Minnesota. It was reported by the school today the following:

Chanhassen Elementary School receives $30,000 gift

Every year the Chanhassen Elementary PTO sends letters to local businesses seeking financial support for programs serving the nearly 600 children who attend the school. This year, Paisley Park Corporation responded with the largest yearly local donation ever received by the school: $30,000!

Staff and parents were thrilled by the gift which amounts to more than half the school’s instructional budget for the year. Cheers greeted the announcement and then the focus quickly shifted to how to spend the donation most wisely.

Principal Helen Merchant and a committee of teachers and parents will seek ideas from staff and then select those suggestions that best meet a variety of student learning needs. The committee will review ideas in academic areas and the arts.

All of us in District 112 are grateful to the Paisley Park Corporation for its generosity on behalf of the children of Chanhassen.

Prince gives so much to kids. I wish more people knew how much.

Thanks Prince & Paisley Park.

I'm glad for the charity, it's always a kind gesture on anyones part to donate money to a worhty cause. I seriously doubt he did this just to draw attention away from the Housequake situation, hardly anyone outside of that site and this one's membership really know about it. And yes, it's a nice fat tax write-off.

that's cool. good on him! it may be a nice little tax write off but there are ther ways to get those. at least a bunch of kids can have a chance at a better education. and notice the difference between prince's pr people's handling of this and j. lo's peeps handling of her weekly charity show on "access hollywood."

Actually I'm still pissed about the whole "sue every single Prince site" thing.

This is different. Prince is giving back to a place he lives. This doesn't happen that often. It's much appreciated, but this whole sue-happy thing has got to stop.

Eventhough the donation is a good tax write off, I still think that his donation is great deed b/c many schools and school district have lost funding. Three Cheers for P. clapping

Relax. It appears Housequake.com has reached an agreement with the Purple One.

Good News!

Housequake & the Prince/NPGMC Lawfirm DWT, has found an agreement with each
other, and things will be as it ever was on Housequake.com very soon.
Ofcourse without the bootleg Trading activities and without any illegal
photo's posted from Prince's latest Tour. So expect everything to be as
normal. And maybe something real cool will happen here in the furture. So
hold on to your wigs!

But most of all our deepest respect to all of you here defending/protecting
us wherever & whenever they could. And that is a really really cool &
pleasant thing, to find out you are not alone.

If you look you can find a snake under every stone, but its still sometimes cool/ sometimes not so cool people use fame to get money to give donations, for some to better the image of themselve, but actually I do not hear Prince braggin about what he gives. But sometimes you wonder where does the L4OA money go? I mean away from P it would have been cool to have a site showing where the $ goes!

Meanwhile, back on Chookalana's thread...
