The Ultimate Prince TV Performances!!!!

Ok people these are the ultimate tv performances of the LIL MAN. Now we know he has many tv appearances. So why don't everyone muster up the essential tv performances

***SOLID GOLD(1982).....LIL MAN performs 1999. It's a lip-synched performance. But the excitement from the fans was something to behold. When Rex Smith annoucned "Prince"..people were screaming like they had lost their minds....ALSO: Jill Jones and Lisa looked so hot together on the set. This was a good performance and cetainly signified to the world that a superstar artist had arrived. BTW Billy Sparks...I saw your shoutout on DARCELL on your THREADS THREADS THREADS . YES Darcell was my girl....FINE....OOOOO WEEEEE!!!!!

***1985 Grammy Awards Performance Of "Baby I'm A Star"- LIL MAN made one slip up, but he more than made up for it with the remainder of the performance. He did a series of splits that were awesome. Incredible energy from him and the Revolution. They bought the house down on this one. Then after he turned the show out...he jumped off stage and him and BIG CHICK made their exit out the building. An amazing climax to a super performance. IMO, with the exception of MJ's 1988 Grammy performance, no one is coming close to this 85' performance. It's performances like this one that RIGHTFULLY earned him the nickname Your Royal Badness!!!!!

***1987 MTV Performance of Sign O The Times- Great performance of SOTT. By now LIL MAN is regarded as a first rate live performer, and this performance is a true testament to that claim.

***1989 Saturday Night Live Anniversary of Electric Chair...A great electrifying performance. LIL MAN rocked the house with grace with this performance.

***1990 Friday Night Videos- Kadeem Hardinson hosted this Prince 1990 special. Prince was supporting his Graffti Bridge movie and soundtrack. This entire show is a gem because Prince gave Friday Night Videos permission to air performances from his 1990 Nude Tour and these performances were awesome. The performances included the hot, funking "Partyman", When Doves Cry and a first rate knockout performance of "The Question Of U"(this was worth the whole show alone). Plus they showed other interesting footage of Prince and his NPG band. I had this one on tape but it got lost when I moved years ago. So if anyone have this 1990 Prince Friday Night Video special...send me an org note.

***1991 MTV Peformance Of "Gett Off"- Ok this is surely one of his infamous performances. His female fan base expanded several times with this performance ...no need to elaborate why!!!

***1991 Arsenio Hall Performance- This is truly one of my favorites tv performances. Particularly that kick-booty version of "Cream". Michael B. plays with authority on this one. I hate it when Vh-1 cuts off segmets of these performances. CLASSIC STUFF!!!!

***1994 VH-1 Honors Performance Of Interactive/Endorpmachine... A classic performance. LIL MAN brings the house down with an amazing live version of these TGE tracks. LIL MAN plays some serious rock riffs on his fretboard and with a supergroup like the NPG backing him up,he can't lose. When I think back on performances like this one I regret badly the group disbanded. This one I highly recommend. Oh and Mayte is shaking some kind of fierce on this one. CLASSIC PERFORMANCE AGAIN * * * * * (Five Stars).

***1995 VH-1 Fashion Awards of "P Control"- Oh my goodmess. If you thought the VH-1 Honors show was hot. This one was ultra hot. An awesome kick butt unedited version(Vh-1 warned viewers about the language content of the song during the opening segments of the performance) of "P Conrol". And Mayte looked so hot and sexy in this one. That woman was born to wear RED. Now I don't really care that much for the way P dresses most of the time, but I must admit that red Versace suit was the bomb. I like it when he dresses masculine. The suit was kicking!!!! This performance is so hot it may melt your TV screen. P definitely pulled out all the stops on this one. CLASSIC PERFORMANCE * * * * * (five stars)

***1998 Essence Awards Performance of The Christ- A CLASSIC, CLASSIC performance of P's 1987 classic "The Cross" revised as the "The Christ". There is something so electrifying about this performance. LIL MAN demonstrate true proficiency on the axe on this performance. Great stuff. I like it when he kicks over the microphone stand and as he finishing up his guitar solo. Classic stuff. Folks may have stopped calling him Your Royal Badness, but he still was reminding people and doubters/haters that he was still nothing to be played with in a live performance. CLASSIC PERFORMANCE * * * * *(A five-star performance)!!!!

OK now what are some of your essential TV Prince moments??

NAMOR

1995- The American Music Awards, where he did a medley of "Billy Jack Bitch", "319", and "I Hate U". It was the first time I had ever heard these trax (i ended up getting the bootlegs 2 months later) and I thought they were the baddest-ass motherf***ing songs I had ever heard. And I kept sayin' "please release 'em".

1994- VH1 Honors, he ripped that sh*t up with "Interactive" and then leveled the damn place with "Endorphinemachine" both of which I had never heard before at the time.

But those are my 2 ultimates, anyone would have 2 agree..

The 1994 Vh 1 Awards show was awesome I still play it over & over.
The Saturday Night Live show was another jaw dropper.
Now for a new one.
1999 pay per view of Rave u2 the year 2000....U GOT the LOOK was very powerful.

Another non performance was the 1988 Grammys when Prince & Michael Jackson both lost the Album of the Year to U2.The look on Prince's face bears fruit later with the battle with the music biz.

The VH-1 Emancipation special....especially great to hear 'One of Us'

Right around the same time, he did a show (don't remember which). He played 'The Holy River', then came back and did Raspberry Beret/Take Me With U melody. I remember he came out in a white outfit, and was glowing in the blacklight at the top of the stairs.

Some of the coolest performances were during his "Love 4 one Another" special on VH-1. Love the way he dissed Madonna's music. He played 'RocknRoll is alive (and it lives in Minneapolis), especially loved 'Days of Wild', damn, that was FUNKY!!
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Well, his American Music Award performance of Purple Rain. Between the set design, the music and that oh-so-pretty white cloud guitar, I hit full Prince fandom that year in middle school.

Electric Chair on SNL15, because P was tearin' stuff up.

And, Motown 25, when he unveiled his moonwalk during Billy Jean after performing with his 5 brothers. Classic.

Good Morning Everyone,

Yeah, I really think SOTT should have won album of the year that year. SOTT is way more diverse than "The Josuha Tree". LIL MAN makes references to his 1988 grammy lost to U2 in the 1990 interview w/ Rolling Stone.
