I bought all 3 at the local BB. PR was $19.99 while GB and UTCM were $14.99...was THAT the $5 discount?

Yeah, cuz normally the PR DVD would'a been $24.99.

I got the all three for a grand total of $37.00!! (I had a $10.00 coupon for Best Buy! mr.green )

It's not $5.00 off each, it is $5.00 off the purchase price. If you add all 3 to your shopping cart at BestBuy.com, the price of PR SE is lowered by 5 bucks.

I bought all 3 DVDs on the day of release (8/24) at Best Buy and they took $5 off my TOTAL order. The receipt showed that they took $1.50 off Under The Cherry Moon, $1.50 off Graffiti Bridge, and $2.00 of Purple Rain 4 a total of $5.00 off.

which is why people should've ordered it from here... pre-order items, rather than wait for them to come out...

would've got them at 30% off, plus free shipping... rather than just $5 off the total at best buy.

oh well lol

Suomynona, it wasn't just a $5 savings. The BB price for PR SE was 19.99 and the other two were 13.49 each...the $5 discount was taken off of those prices not the Suggested Retail Prices. Besides, when preordering, there's always the risk that they will arrive *after* the release date.

The ad and the website said they were selling GB and UTCM for $14.99 not $13.49. You are probably deducting the $1.50 they deducted for buying all 3. See above post who said they deducted $1.50 off those two and $2 off PR for a total of $5.

But another question I have is why would you need these old movies exactly on the release date? Haven't you seen them a hundred times already?

I'd be willing to bet that GB and UTCM end up in the $6.99 bin within 6 months.

You're right about the 14.99...I was looking at the wrong place on my receipt. I haven't seen these movies a hundred times...especially not UTCM and GB. I don't own either of those on VHS, so I've only seen them when they air on television. Not that I want to see GB 100 times wink.

Besides, if the remastered version of *insert favorite Prince album here* came out, wouldn't you want it ASAP, even though you've heard it 100 times?

Not really. I must be getting old because it just doesn't matter to me anymore if I have it the first available day. I mean a year from now will I remember if I got it on Tuesday or if waited until Saturday?

I haven't bought the movies yet, but I'm pretty sure I will pick them up whenever I next happen to be a store that sells them.

If you're only interested in buying "Purple Rain", which I was since I never cared for the other movies much and really shouldn't be spending so much money, go to Circuit City and get it for $17.99, which is actually cheaper than getting $5 for all three of the movies.

it was $6 each from utcm and gb less than a week ago here. (and $7 off the se of pr.)
that, and free shipping... and you weren't forced to buy gb if you only wanted to save $13 off pr and utcm... evillol

hopefully someone got in on that deal...
