Oh, hilarious...I was all impressed with the club for having the tickets at $60 -- thinking that they were equivalent to the most expensive seats the public can buy. Obviously, I was wrong.

Instead, the club ONLY let members get first crack at a handful of the cheapest seats available. So who's sitting in the $120 seats? His latest celeb friends, or what?

Ticketmaster is now SOLD OUT. Prince packed the house with word of mouth ONLY. Didn't even need an advertisement or a line in a newspaper. The man is BACK.

This is really going to be Prince's year. Get ready y'all. Save the duckies and dust off the fine threads. Hell, buy some new ones. It's gonna be a rocket ride for everyone concerned.

I predict Prince will come to every every major city and town in the USA and Europe in 2004. And it all starts...TONIGHT!

I keep telling people this, but Vegas is no longer associated with "cheesy". Vegas is big business, and major as well as "has been" stars perform there.

but ya'll dont hear me tho. wink

True dat. I just meant he's coming back to play for us instead of hiding out in Canada.

You make a very good point and I often think about it - we are lucky that Prince has been with us this long. So many special talents are gone too soon: Jimi Hendrix, James Dean, Janis Joplin, Richie Valens, Sid Vicious, John Lennon...just to name a few. Between all the air travel, shady music biz types, drugs, lawyers gunz & money, and all the rest of the perils & pitfalls...P is still out there displaying serious skills.

Yeah he doesn't always do what we want him to do. Who does? At least he's still creating, jamming, and playing his a*s off every time he steps to the stage. Yeah!

I hear you. One look at Pollstar.com shows every A-List, B-List and C-List performer hitting Vegas on the regular. Vegas still has a cheezy grin, but Vegas packs heat. You know why? 'Cause Vegas PAYS the performers that so often get ripped off, conned out of royalties, and scammed by the record companies.

Performers love playing Vegas because Vegas appreciates their skills and shows it in the WALLET. Where everyone likes to get some props.

On top of that, Prince likes it because it is truly non-stop 24 hours a day. Just like him.

I am just pissed that we as club memebers did not get any time to plans to go!! I mean DAAAMMMNNN what is the point of the last minute notice!!

Isnt it also cool that he does things like that in addition to regular tours not instead, to me it's just gravy, most artists only do the regular tour thing. he does that too, but he also has some urges every now and then and does it, i'd rather have 48 hours than finding out the day after that he showed up somewhere.no?

Sorry but for me it is the same thing!! A missed opportunity is a missed opportunity!! I would rather not be there by my own choosing!! ( ie not opting to go to the venue that he may or may not be apprearing) than to have the carrot dangling but because it is posted at the very last minute I cannot go!! I have a husband job and children!! I can make moves but not that fast!!

i undestand how frustrating this is, but hopefuly u get my point too: this is not instead of a regular tour but in addition. i like the fact the he pulls that kind of imperfect announcement rather than no announcement or worse no last mn shows at all. even when i cant go like last week in LA, i like the fact that he does what he does. if he did nothing but surprise gigs and last mn announcement i'd be pissed, but that's not the case.

I understand the point!! I too prefer that he does both kinds of shows!! And I do appreciate the fact that he sold the $60 tix to club members!!

I am just upset and had a hissy fit!!

Word is that there is a special VIP room and that some lucky hotties will be invited by a HOB related guy and that they will have a table overlooking the crowd and the stage. Has anyone heard about this. No tickets necessary, just for looking good and these hotties will be in. No kidding, a friend of mine told me it's standard practice in Vegas' HOB. Has anyone heard of this?

Hey-I have lived in Vegas for quite some time, and I have never heard of this-nor anything related. If it does-then I am in the dark. smile

Besides, I'd rather be upclose. smile

Is there any reason why these concerts aren't announced in advance? I would love to hit a concert like this, but the notice is way to short...

It's 1500-1800 tickets in less than a day, with no radio announcement, no newspaper mention, no TV, no media whatsoever. Just a couple of web site postings.

It doesn't prove anything about his public appeal. But it does prove that the man has loyal fans, and he can still stir up excitement. If you've ever tried promoting events, you know how hard it is to get people out, much less drop coin.

I think Prince plays Vegas all the time because he can announce a show a week in advance and still get a crowd with no hassle. With the horns, the religion and all the other stuff, Prince is getting a little too Vegasy for my tastes. 'm looking forward to another solid CD of demo quality jams with just Prince and his instruments, no other players or rappers or w's..thank you.

Vegas is fun, but it aint COOL, and it aint where I expected a Funk Brother like Prince to end up!

Prince doesnt like scalpers. He is in control when he gives short notice. He has enough money to last him to the finish line so its not about money anymore. He could easily retire and never perform again while living the good life without all of this hassle etc. But he chooses to do what he loves:perform.
