WHY!!!

I don't have the money to fly to Vegas and get a ticket. Damn You, Prince. I can't believe I'm missing your first performance of 2004.

If I would have filed my taxes two weeks ago, I would be flying to Vegas tomorrow afternoon.

Enough naysayers!! when there is no concert we hear Prince is no longer in love with music etc.. When there is a concert we hear oh it's Vegas again he is turning into a Vegas act...

Just learn to appreciate good news when there is some!!! I'm in France and i would have liked to be there for the concert!!!

Vegas has a rep for being where old musical acts go when they become past their prime. Alot of that comes from the 60's when rock made acts like Sinatra & Dean Martin old fashioned. These old fashioned performers could count on Vegas for a steady income. Its seen as a perfomers last stop before the graveyard.
All of which is unfair because Vegas is a totally different city then it was just ten years ago & in no way should playing a Vegas venue be seen as the kiss of death. Vegas is a city that is there to entertain.

Isnt it also cool that he does things like that in addition to regular tours not instead, to me it's just gravy, most artists only do the regular tour thing. he does that too, but he also has some urges every now and then and does it, i'd rather have 48 hours than finding out the day after that he showed up somewhere.no?

Slowly but surely, Vegas is shaking this image. Venues like The Aladdin, House Of Blues, MGM Grand and The Joint (at the Hard Rock Hotel) constantly bring in new, current acts as well as classic ones. If Prince starts to play at the lounge in the Flamingo, it will be time to declare him over.

If an artist pretty much takes up residence in Vegas, then that is a good sign they are "over". Prince doesn't show any sign of doing this. Besides, who gives a crap if he is "over"? Since when was his popularity an important part of the music? I'd friggin' love it if I could make it to this show. HOB is an incredible venue, and the lucky few who get to go are in for one helluva time!

Me and my girl can't go either. the airfare is too much now. And the drive is 24 hours so. We'll catch him when he is on the east coast. (keeping my fingers crossed)

Sorry but for me it is the same thing!! A missed opportunity is a missed opportunity!! I would rather not be there by my own choosing!! ( ie not opting to go to the venue that he may or may not be apprearing) than to have the carrot dangling but because it is posted at the very last minute I cannot go!! I have a husband job and children!! I can make moves but not that fast!!

Ticketmaster still sells tickets at:

http://www.ticketmaster.c...rcatid=202

Price range $60-$120. My search for a Best Available came up with $85(+charges) tickets which are -Level 2, Loge Level Assigned Seating-. And, no, I didn't take them. wink International orders need to be made 10 days before the gig anyways. Not that I was even considering forking out another 500 for a plane ticket, hehehehe...

For those going; HAVE FUN!!! party

i undestand how frustrating this is, but hopefuly u get my point too: this is not instead of a regular tour but in addition. i like the fact the he pulls that kind of imperfect announcement rather than no announcement or worse no last mn shows at all. even when i cant go like last week in LA, i like the fact that he does what he does. if he did nothing but surprise gigs and last mn announcement i'd be pissed, but that's not the case.

Member tix sold out through NPGMC...and the Ticketmaster allotment is going fast.

Ticketmaster status as of 12:20 pm PST:
$120 tix: Reserved seating in the downstairs tiers and first rows of upstairs balcony: sold out.
$85 tix: Reserved balcony seating on sides and upper rows: now on the extreme side.
$60 tix: Standing room only tix on the floor: still available.

I think it's really cool that the best tickets (if you like dancing and being closest to the stage) are only $60. THANK YOU PRINCE for giving members the first shot at these tickets, with no service charges. Those damn Ticketmaster service charges are running $10-$17 per ticket, depending on which tickets you're buying.

Some might fault Prince for his last-minute ways, but that's nothing new. He took care of the hardcores on this one. Big props to the man.

It's gonna be a beautiful night!

I LIVE 5 HOURS AWAY...WASNT SURE I WANTED TO DRIVE, SINCE I WAS JUST IN VEGAS LAST WEEKEND. ITS A SHAME HE DIDNT GIVE ME A BIT MORE TIME...I JUST HATE THE DRIVE. DONT REALLY WANT TO GO ALONE sad BUT WITH SUCH NOTICE, IT REALLY DOESNT GIVE PEOPLE MUCH TIME TO TAKE MAKE PLANS...SO IF I GO, I GO ALONE. BUT HELL, I REALLY DONT WANNA MISS THIS VEGAS SHOW...WHAT SHOULD I DO. I GOT RELATIVES IN VEGAS, SO NO HOTEL IS NECESSARY, BUT LIKE I SAID, I HATE THE DRIVE. MOST OF MY GALFRIENDS WORK THE WEEKENDS, SO NO TIME FOR THEM TO SAY, "CAN I TAKE SAT OFF"

You'll have the rest of the weekend to recover. If there's any way you can go, do it. Life is too short to miss Prince dropping the serious funk. Late night. In a small club!!

Even though I know I'm not going to the Vegas show (I would if I was in the area), you do have a good point. Sometimes it almost seems like they are trying to think of new ways to make us NOT join the club.
