Suffice it to say that the answer you received is pretty much the standard reply from the NPGMC for EVERYTHING!

I'll give the NPGMC credit for one thing, at least they are consistent... annoying, but, consistently annoying with their lack of information.

If it's not posted on the website, you can rest assured that a personal e-mail to the staff will get you NO information - absolutely nothing.

Exactly the same reply that I got yesterday. It is probably an automatic reply to anything with the word concert in the e-mail!

Hi I read in the swedish "Metro" today that Prince may be coming to stockholm on 25 october. I am danish but live in Malmø, and he i also supposed to play i copenhagen (near by) on 21 october.

Hope this is true. By the way, it was nice seeing prince on the cover of at newspaper.

There was an article inside describing the rumors of an european tour on many "Internet fan sites".

There was also the picture of Prince and Mani leaving a basketball match last year. The text 2 the picture was like

The sad part about it all is that I've actually come to expect poor customer service from Prince/NPGMC. But I strongly disagree that this is how it is "SUPPOSED" to be. The way things are now with the NPGMC is not how it is supposed to be, love it or hate it, the way things are is simply the way it is, and that's the point I was making.

So would you prefer he announce everything 6 months in advance, change his mind, and watch the posts pile up from people like you saying "WHY DID HE ANNOUNCE IT WHEN HE WAS JUST GOING TO CHANGE HIS MIND ANYWAY???" ? Boo hoo, you have to wait. Cry me a freakin' river. Read a book, watch The Simpsons, stop obesssing.

FACT is that most of the times the releases didn't even make the officially announced release dates -- if it got released at all -- and those release dates were often MONTHS after the recording. See TRC for a great example.

I think there is a European Tour in the works - just being finalized. Candy Dulfer's website hinted at this a while back + it makes sense to wrap up the ONA in Europe after playing all over North America. I think they'll announce it in under 2 weeks...I could be wrong, but I have feeling it's around the corner. :=)

Communicating openly and honestly with your paying customers is good customer service. My gripe is that SURELY Prince must have some kind of plan for how and when the music will be released and in what format etc. (see my other post for just a few of the unsanswered questions) SURELY there must be some kind of plan... tentative as it may be, there MUST be some kind of plan. All I'm saying to Prince is give your PAYING customers a little more information about your intentions for the services and/or products that we have purchased in advance. I do not think that is too much to ask.

Trust me, I'm not crying or losing sleep over the poor customer service at all. In fact I think Prince's approach actually hurts Prince's business more than anyone or anything else. But I do think I'm voicing a legitimate complaint as a bona fide paying customer, and it is a complaint that could be rectified very easily. If you don't like what I'm saying, then YOU go cry a river or read a book.
