The statements aren't 'unverified', it's just that you refuse to take them at face value. In the book she says she was told by staff what happened to the ashes. No-one is refuting that. So until a staff person comes forward to do so, Mayte's version stands, cause all these fucking miogynists who endlessly talk shit about the women in Prince's life certainly don't know better than Mayte.

She was NOT told by staff, she was told by a freind who in turn heard it from an assisstant of Prince. Let her version stand for you, but do not tell me how to feel, act or speak. YOU are the mysoginist. Is your job on this thread to try and bully people off it? . [Edited 4/29/17 4:46am]

Yeah whatever to that. If you don't have evidence then you've got no business accusing anyone of lying. Having a 'feeling' isn't enough. And for all these people having 'feelings' about the women in Prince's world, one has got to wonder what the issue actually is. The issue is fairly obvious.

There have to be social standards. You can't just talk shit and be negative all the time cause you have a problem with women or whatever. If telling you that makes you feel like your freedom is being constricted, well so be it. Get over it.

I'm one of those women who doesn't take romantic crap seriously. If Prince wrote me that, I'd be like, "Dude, nah. You want to try that again like a grown-up, not like a twelve year old girl seeing stars, puppies, flowers, and unicorns. And by the way, lose the emoticons and write like a grown man. This crap is so silly."

But then, I'm pretty evil like that. lol

OMG Spooky...THANK YOU for saying what I've been thinking (for years) about the emoticons/numbers/letters,etc!!! I LOVE PRINCE...and I know it was his " thing", and it was cool in a song title ,poster or concert t-shirt, etc. But after awhile it was annoying to me. when I saw the letters he wrote her all I could think was how it reminded me of a junior high love letter. Kind of immature in its delivery for a grown ass man! Haha

I've always thought it was annoying as FUCK, even when I was a teenager. Like, why can't this grown man write better than this? It's so stupid. I can see doing it occasionally, as a joke, but you should be done doing that on a regular basis well before you grow out of your teens. I've had people write me stuff in that style as a teenager, and I'd send it back and force them to rewrite it without the nonsense every single time. I wasn't about to accept it.

I imagine myself inside your bedroom; oh, I imagine myself in your sky.

BillieBalloon said: Really, she said that! I have seen people arguing this constantly! I wanted to say the same thing. Ashes is still physical thing, material thing! Spirit never dies! Prince knows it! It took mayte years to come to term. She finally got it! The question is do you get it? Spirit never dies! Prince is with his son now!

I find that hard to believe when she basically starts off the book discussing their belief in reincarnation and how they'll keep meeting forever throughout eternity. She brings up their conversations around reincarnation later on as well, so it's not like she just had a "lightbulb moment" this month because she's done some interviews. If she had forgiven him (as she's stated recently) and believes in reincarnation, they'd have been "just ashes" before she felt compelled to repeat a rumor about him burning them.

I am very curious to know if Mayte has been contacted medium. Through medium, you can received the message from the loved one who has passed. In china, we called medium "third eye". Isn't interested to know Prince is very into third eye in later years?

Mayte's book pemeates the message "Fate or Coincidence". I truly believe Mayte has many years soul search to accept many things during grief process.

If we walk through the spiritual path with great faith in eternal life, death is not a bad thing at all, it is an awaking moment though as painful as we have to go through.

I think Mayte wants to bring a spiritual light to this "urn" thing since so many people hang on this subject endlessly, but it doesn't mean this is a rumor. It is a path to understanding and empowerment after years resentment.

Picture you, in 20 years, when you looked back the urn thing, do you still have the same feeling when you've been told the first time? Only if you make peace with past, you can change "NOW". Do you dare to change?

I haven't said anything about how I feel about the urn. I am discussing what she wrote in the book about it, what she's said in her book interviews about it, and that she heard it from someone else. She also says Manuela told her there were some of her things STILL in storage at PP, so perhaps it's still there? Although, now, if it was, she couldn't afford to bring that to light.

That's not what was in the book. She only spoke of one hotel, where she auditioned in 1989 and was asked to come back the following June, 1990. She also stated IF the hotel offered her the contract, she would spend her time between Cairo and Germany. Neither came to pass. Therefore, no contract at all. The hotel burned in March 1990, 4 months before she even met P.

See, here's the thing...

You and those of your ilk clearly are very black & white thinkers. You like crisp edges and well defined details.

That doesn't make you a bad person, but it does make it less likely for you to see shades of grey therefore if something is not explained in the minutest detail with no room for misunderstanding you cannot see past what is presented to the full outcome. You seem unable to abstract and use deductive reasoning. I've watched your replies in other threads. You are rigidly inflexible and tend to fixate without being able to integrate new information or opinions.

I find it exhausting trying to explain things to a person who cannot or is willfull in refusing to accept that there are subtleties and nuance in every situation.

And so, since I cannot explain in a way that you can understand, I'm choosing not to try anymore for now.

Doesn't mean I'm angry. Doesn't mean I hate you. What it does mean is that I find explaining things to you and those who think the way that you do an exercize in futility. And since this is not my book or story to fight for, I'm not interested in further engaging with you about it at this time.

Frankly, it's sorta like trying to teach a turtle to sing...it wastes my time and annoys the turtle.

I'm sure someone with more patience will pick up the gauntlet and engage with you on this topic, but I'm bored for now and need to recharge my batteries.

Enjoy.

Well said. Certain people have said the same exact thing in post after post... give it a rest already. Also, I don't care who you are, no one knows what they would have done in that situation unless it actually happened to them. sheeesh. LBrent, well said.

A: This isn't court. Mayte is not on trial.

B: It actually wouldn't be inadmissable in court, unless someone was challenging her. In this case, no one is challenging her. The family respects and loves her, and none of the staff are making any noise about it. The only people that are suspicious are the supposed 'fans' online who have problems with the women in Prince's life, and they have no case at all.

No, it's not a trial but she is being held accountable for what she put in print as any author (male, female, black/white, etc.) would be no matter the gender of the poster. If you cannot separate gender from actions, that's your difficulty. Being told something by someone who heard it from someone else is rumor. No one is questioning if she is the mother. As for the family, she was not invited to the Celebration and that's another topic. They are far too busy dealing with P's legacy and all the legalities to deal with her ATM.

She's being held accountable how? By sniveling misogynists on Prince.org who haven't got a clue about what went down? Who are hypercritical, and cast aspersions at all opportunities? You can't haven't got a case. Mayte knows more about what went down with her own child than you do. End of story. How about you be accountable for your false and baseless accusations?

No. You step off. The amount of venom directed at women in Prince's life, particularly women he was close to, on The Org is outlandish, and inappropriate. It is misogyny. Period. It's toxic and there's no legitimate reason for it at all.

This is sure to brighten your day.

Mayte wrote a love letter to Prince's legacy. Here is a snippet of it.

This month, on the one-year since his all-too-soon passing, and with all the media surrounding the anniversary, I wanted to, in some small way, leave an impression of light and of love which is what he was. Prince was many things: an artist, an amazing friend, the love of my life and family. I wanted to write a love letter to his legacy. Mystery is often cloaked in darkness. I wanted to share the light.

Hey, none of that is name calling. That's real stuff. ('Jealous women who need to shut up' was not quite my phrase, though.) The conversation going here where people just incessantly pick on women in Prince's life, and accuse his wife about lying about their dead child IS vile. It's insensitive, toxic, misogynistic, casts suspicion without cause, and I think it valid to point out that the far majority of folks acting the way are women.

These are all valid points, they are not name-calling, but they are definitely calling people out for their shitty behavior.

Oh yeah, and homophobia is apart of it too. If you think that's an insult, well then quit it. If you stop perpetuating it, then no one will call you wanted.

First of all NOBODY has mentioned Maytes gender, nobody. People have only referred to her by name or as Princes ex wife. Tbe only person that has thrown gender into this mix is you. As far as i am concerned the fact that she is a woman is only YOUR issue, nobody elses. Secondly, nobody has bought up Princes other women in this thread and criticised them purely on the basis of being Princes gurlfriend/associate etc. You seem to be tarnishing everyone who has valid points to raise about the book as hating on all of Princes women. That is your way if trying to shut down any views you dont like. Youve made sexist comments about hoardes of jealous womem, basically dismissing any opposing views to yours as vile jealous women that need to shut up.

I ask again, why do you keep bringing up gender when nobody else has? People have questioned the legitimacy of a claim in the book because it is based on something Mayte was told who heard it from another person. Mayte may not be on trial but Prince is. People want the truth about what happened, not rumour or speculation.

Other authors have also been bought to task for questionable research, not just Mayte.

You are calling people misogynists who disagree with you. So don't play dumb now. You are very rude and disrespectful. You don't have any more information of "what went down" to be arguing down anyone on their opinion. If you put your business on front street people are going to question you. Who is "attacking"her? She is not a victim. She is making money and getting some attention, so stop casting her as some victim who is being attacked. At the end of the day, do you really think she cares who believes her claims or not? The answer is no. She is counting her money and chillin whlie you over here on your high horse calling others misoynists because they don't believe what you do. You, step off.

No. You step off. The amount of venom directed at women in Prince's life, particularly women he was close to, on The Org is outlandish, and inappropriate. It is misogyny. Period. It's toxic and there's no legitimate reason for it at all.

Take your own advice. You have an issue and you need to stop. She was on a reality show where other women criticized her for her behavoir and statements, are they misogynists too? You are using words that you have no idea what they mean just to sound smart and shut people down. Guess what? It's not working. Name calling will not change peoples views. You called people names and now you want to back track now with excuses that don't make any sense. You are big name caller but want to argue about how people are picking on Mayte and other female associates with your incorrect buzz word uses. No one is going shame me because I question what I read or hear. Again,"step off".

206Michelle

Mayte mentions the house in Minnesota where she and prince lived numerous times in the book. As Mayte describes in the book, this is the house that he had redecorated prior to their wedding in preparation for their new married life. I am wondering where this house was located. Was it located on the grounds of Paisley Park or was it located elsewhere? My understanding is that after he divorced Manuela, Prince had someone demolish the house.

Blah, blah, blah....deflect by name calling and asserting opinion here....blah, blah, blah....never address any of the legitimate points brought up in the book that contradict.....blah, blah, blah.

I didn't call you names, and you don't have any legitimate points cause you have no knowledge or authority to make claims about what went down. All you have is the desire to attack a woman you don't know. So, step off.

Another LEGITIMATE POINT: What she wrote in her book: P was her guardian for 6 months before she turned 18 so she could work on projects and performances at all hours in LA and MN. Thereafter, after her father signed the document, she writes that she was flown to LA to work on a Diamonds and Pearls video and was greeted at the airport as "Martha George" because if "they" (the Union) found out she was only seventeen and working on it, she couldn't do it. So, did P have guardianship or not? I'll wait.......
