I have felt many things since Prince's passing and it has hit me harder than I ever expected. I don't even know what it IS really because, I didn't personally know him, but, like others here, it has been very earth shattering and I didn't expect it. But of all the things I've felt, No, I have never felt like his widow.

I guess it depends on how you read her letter. Because I've read other interviews she did in the past her letter came as no surprise. She wrote a beautiful letter about Denise also. IMO her letter to P didn't come across as painting a "romantic" relationship but rather the loss of someone whom she loved deeply. The word "feel" by definition means "to experience something physical or emotional." In other words, I took her letter to mean she was experiencing the emotions a widow may go through during the grieving process. Didn't we all love P? I mean, don't we to some degree feel like his "widow?"

I agree bondno9. Some do feel like his "widow" so I don't understand why some fans have so much animosity towards some of these women. Everyone grieves differently. I feel Mayte never had any closure since their divorce and was so young when they first got together. She never got over him, so as long as her book is done in a respectful way, it doesn't bother me that she is writing one. Sheila has been doing her thing very well I think keeping the music alive and I thought Appolonia's message was very sweet and heartfelt. Aren't we supposed to be in this together? The fact is, each of these women were very important to him at some point in his life. They all never stopped loving him. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but if it is a part of their closure and want to share it with the fans, then so be it.

I like Apollonia but she has no creditbity shading Sheila E and Mayte but praising Mani T Benet. She is really no better than them.

HELLO and Good Evening... and in what universe is a married & mothered woman starting a charity in honor of her dead EX HUSBAND? Charitable org or not she's still slapping his name on it, which places her in a LIFETIME position of being connected to his legacy, and performing duties that would appear to many who don't know more of her backstory to be on his behalf. Don't even get me started on the fact that the name association obviously increases not only public visibility, but donor potential, potential dollas upon dollas of which SOMEBODY has got to be paid for "administrative costs". I hate to sound coldly skeptical, but part of me only sees, "Cha-CHING, Bishes! pimp2 pimp2" . And Apples can sit her little petite ass down too. You were MARRIED during your time with Purple Rain, and made sure to let everyone know after your tenure was up that you weren't romantically involved with P, but NOW you want to say you feel like Prince's widow? Chile please have several seats hammer

all of this.
