Don't really see how reading this book is any different from reading any other biography of him available, except that the person writing it might base the stories off first hand encounters rather than heresay, gossip and so on. We talk about the man here in depth... his scent, his sexuality, his relationships and divorces... I don't see how reading this book is somehow more of a violation of privacy than anything else we do.

This just sux butt that we may have to read about Prince's life and thoughts and feelings from other peoples perspective when we were about to get his personal memoirs The Beautiful Ones released per what he said earlier this year. I pray his family and friends speak the truth and nothing but the truth and not slander Prince.

If I read any book about Prince's life it will be his half written memoir and nothing else. Prince already wrote his own life story...he lived it. So MG and whoever else cant tell me shit.

I'm not all that interested considering the source and her history. Wouldn't consider her a writer either. Wasn't she on some stupid reality show? At one time she and Prince seemed in love, but how they met, how long they were married, where she is now, makes her motives a little suspect. I'm sure there will be better books.

If you don't like the idea of the exposure that it would reveal, we'll need to have a fan memoir published to cover all of those riveting fan-facts of why Prince was so important 2 U.

2 bad Prince didn't get a chance to finish his memoirs, I'd check that too, of course--even if it turned out to be one of his picture-story-laden-with-poetry type publications.

Have no plans to order it....but my sister preordered TWO copies.So I can guarantee Iam going to be told all the details I hope writing this gives Mayte peace after telling her story. I will be honest when I say Iam curious about a lot of stuff. But I do not want graphic details like"we made love once every six months on nights when the moon was full" type of mess! lol.

I would like for her to tell an honest account of what happened during her pregnancy with Ahmir(sp?)P's overdose in 1996.What she feels is the reason her marriage ended and most of all, how she became friends with Mani. I think if you gonna put your business out there at least answer the burning questions and end speculation.

Mayte is getting older and I think she is realizing that this will be her last chance to cash in on her involvement with P. She is looking to have her and her daughter set up for life.Plus she is always trying to raise money to keep her animal rescue going so she could be saying this is it for me, I gotta make this work. She has a lot of info on PRINCE one of( if not) THE most secretive,elusive entertainer EVER. Iam sure her team has told her the potiential to have a bestseller. BUT she is gonna have to tell all to get people to buy it.She has one shot at this. Publishers etc want to make money they have prepped her Iam sure to "bring it" I think she will. I'm probably won't be able to completely avoid this book because snippets will likely be posted here on the Org and elsewhere on the internet. But I refuse to reward tackiness with my hard earned money To me, most of the tackiness comes from the fact that Prince is no longer here to deny, refute, or defend himself. But there are other reasons. Have you read the blurb about the book? It's already anticipating competition and trying to position itself as the one definitive book about Prince!

For those who feel that Mayte needs and deserves to heal, I agree Everyone should have that chance and I wish her well in that regard. But writing a book the only way for her to heal?!? Is there really no other way? How about writing a journal, or seeing a therapist? Lots of people have managed to overcome and triumph without writing a book!

I also seriously doubt it's worth my time too, because any information in the book will necessarily be filtered through MG's eyes and it's not her perspective I'm really interested in. Now Prince's book I would pre-order several copies of in a heartbeat, because it's his point of view I am truly curious about.
