Y'all do know that 'Hazy Shade of Winter' is actually a Simon & Garfunkel song, right?

I thought they were great, it was a shame and they disbanded so soon after Eternal Flame. My fav song of their's is Hazy Shade of Winter from the Less than Zero soundtrack 1988 https://www.youtube.com/w...G9PVucS9aw

The reformed and released 2 albums since 2003 nod

"She's a sexy woman. I can certainly see why Prince had a crush on her".....Oh yeah. nod ..Hollywood noticed it too....I saw that movie she did and to this day I still couldn't tell you what the hell it was about...(it was pretty bad too). She's held up very well.

Yes and it is getting ugly. Sheila E is being attacked viciously, the Revolution next the Time and almost any person who sang/performed on or with on the songs the endured the ages is and will be. But Tamron Hall Van White and Demaris Lewis become his spokesmen

Pathetically sad sad

Now more than ever former bandmembers and collaborators could be inclined to come on the Org and share experiences and communicate with fans without fearing Prince's reaction to them doing so. But because of a few ill-mannered people, it's very possible that those among them who weren't already disgusted by the hating here before will think twice before coming and interact with us.

I know it's been discussed before and it has been decided that hating was to be tolerated here, but I still believe that the same level of respect that is expected between members should be demanded towards people associated with Prince. I hope the rules change one day. I remain convinced that the community would benefit from such a change...

absolutely.

Knowing that Eleanor Rigby is a Beatles song doesn't stop me from loving Ray Charles' version. wink

No, but the OP was saying their best song was written by someone else, so 'Hazy Shade of Winter' isn't exactly building a case for their abilities either.

It wasn't posted as evidence of their songwriting ability, so it's still irrelevant.

It might have some meaning if the OP had any substance behind it, but the OP did not, it was just a drive-by swipe. It didn't even have a point about songwriting since it was based on "how great the Bangles think they are," which is something the OP doesn't know and made no case for knowing, and what their "best song" is, which is subjective and again not supported by the OP.

So, the OP based a thread on pointlessly insulting a band, and people who like the band are saying they like the band.

And I'm noting the Bangles version of Hazy Shade was seemingly more successful than S&G's version, while not trying to pretend that factoid is proof of anything in particular about either group.
