Still don't like the song, it sounds like Britney Spears or something - but I'm glad everything is full steam ahead thumbs up!

This could actually do well I think though.

This track is growing on me really fast and the video is simple and fun. The Time never did over the top music videos (Ice Cream Castles was the closest to conceptual as they ever got) so I'm glad they didn't change that formula as The Original 7ven. Definitely looking forward to 'Condensate' and hope they hit NYC like they mentioned in that article.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Wow. the full version is MUCH better than the lame sample. It opens really rockin'. Great to hear and see it. Good luck to them!

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

THAT, is how you make a comeback. There is nothing not to like about that song and video IF you are a fan of the group. If you are not, then it was not for you anyway. It stays true to their style abd updates the sound. Well done fellas. See you in Hong Kong.

Hate the chorus of this song... and all of the lyrics.

It's like when your grandparents use words teenagers use to try and relate to them or be "hip"...

Change it one more time..

What words don't you understand? It is as simple as it gets. You do understand the entire stage persona of the band, right? Bunch of rich playboys living the party lifestyle? Ever listen to "Cool", "Wild and Loose", "Get it Up"? No? Then this party is not for you, nothing more to see here. Move along...

I know what the "Time" sounded like, this is them trying to be young, but they went a little too young. When people compare the sound of your music to Britney Spears there's a problem.

Only one person in this thread compared it to Britney Spears..hardly makes it "people".

Just because there is a more contemporary club synth line deosn't make it Britany Spears. Sadly you have to skew young to even think about ghetting airplay in the US.

You don't like this track. Leave it at that and move on.

When Britney Spears can sound like the worst "Band Formerly Known As The Time" song, I'll become a fan of hers.

As for "Trendin" sounding like a Britney Spears song...I'm sure she wishes.

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Actually we don't know what the The Time sounded like because most of that was what Prince wanted the Time to sound like. This is the orignal line-up doing their own music for the first time without anyone else's input. They had to keep the pimp style and the attitude but now you've got fully fleshed musicians making the album they've never had the chance to make. Listen to it with fresh ears and not compare it to the past projects.

Someone else jumped on me for not feeling the song, so your "move on" comment is a bit misdirected. Hey, you like songs that sound like Britney Spears, nothing wrong with that. She sings catchy tunes. For me there's just an image clash between The Time and that style of music/lyrics. I'm just stating my opinion, no need to take offense...

I hear you. I'll give their other tracks a chance, but for this its kinda like "There'll Never B Another Like Me" from Prince. I can appreciate it in essence but its not something that'd make my iPod rotation when you have thousands of other songs to chose from. I dont expect to fall in love with EVERY song by artists I listen to.

Change it one more time..

I said "Stage Persona", not sound. The lyrics fit right into that mold. "The Time" was never about deep lyrics, rather all about the good time, girls, and flair. Music is an evolving thing, like technology. Either you update your sound, or like technology, you become obsolete. What is too young in your opinion? Britney Spears did not invent the synthesizer nor dance music. Nor does she feature a band/ensemble setting in her performance. I don't get the comparison.

I agree. This song is exactly where The Time needs to be in 2011.It's retro-sounding,yet fits perfectly with today's music too. There's no point in making a 'new' record that sounds like 1982.You gotta move on or get left behind.

I don't hear Britney at all. Sounds like modern Time to me!

The video, to me, is kind of an updated version of The Chocolate video. I like it. They want tweets, but they aren't saying much on twitter. I think they should "push send" more often and engage the fanbase. All the guys are entertaining personalities and it seems like they aren't utilizing that as much as they could. Tweet pics. Personal stuff. Studio stuff. Backstage stuff. Quotes from Morris. Jerome doing his thing (really just give him the iphone, and see what happens). They could get a lot more buzz, if they open things up a bit more.

The music is pumping with a sound that's thumping. But

the lyrics are just too, what's the word mac'n'cheese

I'll still purchase the album and give it a spin.

CD
