TLC version If I Was Ur Girlfriend I'm notone for Prince covers but this version is pretty cool, maybe because I'm biased because I like TLC...  but they followed the main structure and meldoy of the song, maybe one lyrical change, but hey, who's noticing. Just niceYes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!!  In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!! | |

I agree with you ectasy. I really like the groove they work with and they stay true to the song with a change or two.....I can groove this one on a regular basis!!!!!! One of the few songs i like as a remake from the Prince camp. | |

I did like their cover and their cover of 'Get It Up' rocked as well. You could tell they loved/respected the music by not trying to rework it to death! I also remember Prince saying "Free TLC" after performing 'Dinner With Delores' on Letterman. He must've approved of the covers. When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |

Isn't the whole point of this song that it's about a man trying to imagine what it must be like to be a girl's best friend, only to realise that he can't because he's still a man? How can this work if it's sung by a woman? I always felt that TLC just didn't understand this.  | |
