Apollonia 6 promo video

Has anyone else seen this? It has "Happy Birthday Mr. Christian", "Sex Shooter", "Ooh She She Wa Wa" "Blue Limosuene"...seeing this stuff makes me so happy! I'm so curious as to what else is out there that we haven't seen! It looks like some money was spent on it, although it does look dated, sort of like an 80's porn movie!

A four-track video was filmed based on the Apollonia 6 album, directed by Brian Thomson (Australian Production Designer of the original stage versions of Rocky Horror Show and Jesus Christ Superstar), scripted by Keith Williams (concept writer for music videos by Phil Collins, Ray Parker, Jr., and Donna Summer), with a cast consisting of Ricky Nelson, Edy Williams and Buck Henry. Shot in a Los Angeles film studio in 1985, and produced by British video firm Limelight, the video never went beyond rough-cut. Footage from the project has appeared on many social networking sites, such as YouTube. The four songs that are featured: "Happy Birthday,Mr.Christian","Sex Shooter","Blue Limousine" and "Ooh She She Wa Wa".

Thanks for that info! I thought that looked like yummy Ricky Nelson! And I couldn't think of Buck Henry's name for the life of me!

it appears that Prince and Warners had big plans for the Apollonia 6 project.I guess when the album flopped, they lost interest? Such a shame.I think "Blue Limousine" could have been a massive hit single.

See, I think just the opposite. I think they buried it by releasing it months after the movie's release. They didn't give it much love, it seems to me.

I have the video on my computer, actually. It was this whole freakin' mess, like their 'boss' or something (confuse I don't even know) supposedly died, and they were told that they were taken out of the will, so they keep trying to find jobs, and then they find out that their 'boss'(?) is in fact alive and they don't actually have to work.

It's kind of ridiculous, actually. But it's entertaining, anyways.

Yep, first saw it a couple of years ago and I've got it on DVD now. It's a hoot, seeing the girls in different situations and finally hearing Susan utter more than a few words.

Okay, scratch that. I rewatched the video. It was Mr. Christian (remember Happy Birthday Mr. Christian?), their dead uncle, who 'died' and some bitch lady told them that they were taken out of the will.

Loved "Blue Limousine".

me too music I was shocked when I first heard it.Brenda's vocals are great! Love the lyrics too.The song is a perfect example of the 1983/84 synth-based Minneapolis Sound.

She sounded a lot like Donna Summer to me.

nod hearing her sing this way took me by surprise. On the Vanity 6 album, she only sang lead on one song ("Bite The Beat") and that song doesn't really display her awesome vocal abilities.
