Timing is everything. Even I am growing impatient with the slow drip "new" media efforts of this venture. And has Jerome repented for his sins towards the LGBT community or has he been blacklisted from this project yet? Cause my purchase is still contingent on his making amends for his major anti-LGBT outburst. I'm willing to forgive if he takes the opportunity to learn from his errors but if he is involved with the project (or any live shows to promote it) in anyway, despite my love for St. Paul and all things Susannah, well...forget it.

The album is done. We are currently doing radio edits, getting websites and promo material together, talking to distributors, agents etc. It will not be released commercially in 2010, definitely in early 2011, although fans on the mailing list etc will get the opportunity to get it before anyone else.

There are a couple of multi-act shows in the pipeline but until the deal is done we're not going to talk about what "may happen", I think you all deserve to know what "will happen"

Thanks for the support.

Ummm...just out of curiousity what "outburst" did Jerome make toward the LGBT community that calls for this behavior from you? Did I miss the memo?

Get up, come on, let's do something...

That's an odd choice of words. It's just a commitment I made to myself following this lil episode:

http://prince.org/msg/5/174590
http://prince.org/msg/5/336721

There's a thread somewhere in the middle of these where Jerome responded at an event to the question in such an inappropriate fashion that I decided to boycott this CD unless Jerome apologizes or is absent from supporting the album promotion.

With soo many kids killing themselves because of societies treatment of LGBT people, it's a stand we should all take.

Well Mr. Hayton, it is with my understanding that the person on which you are speaking of is involved. what I want to know is whether or not this changes your decision on whether or not you'll choose to buy the album (yes, i'm old school, I said album!).

And while I get your last statement (and by the way, that's an incorrect link U sent) I think that the person you are targeting has gotten an unfair rap for being misquoted; have U ever been misquoted? Remember, when U point a finger there are 3 pointing back at U...

confuse lol

Seriously though, that's unfortunate. Unless the incidents are addressed, yes, I will boycott and ask my fellow LGBT brothers and sisters to do the same. Soo sad cause I know W&L played key roles in the creation of this work but in these times and days, when poor lil boys and girls are dying because they are gay, you gotta take a stand somehow.

Jerome is not involved in the project. The line-up is St Paul, Susannah, Jellybean and Eric.

Jerome is NOT involved in this project. I seriously don't think he had anything to offer this project. I think it would be easier being Jerome in The Time where he belongs the most. In the Family besides playing a clap drum and dancing what else would he do? I'm king of glad he's not involved, I think the project will be taken more seriously without him.

I dig what all of U are saying. What I don't understand is where this notion that this person dislikes LGBTs came from. I think I know the thread you were attempting to send me Mr Hayden (sp). At the end of the day I could give a rat's a$$ what happens, NO ONE on this site pays my bills so it's all good. I do, however, enjoy the witty repartee that occurs on the org. SMH

I agree.

But I think If indeed Jerome said what he said- he's not a person with a whole lot of weight that will makes huge waves if he is boycotted. I just find it personally somewhat odd you chose Jerome Benton if all people to use as an example here - especially with the involvement of two women who are very active and pro LGBT (tho I honestly can't speak of bi or transgendered - cause I know G&L who have real problems with the B&T- which I also don't get...lol) Your choice entirely though.

As you can see his involvement has been declared nil so you don't have to worry about it anymore smile

Oops! Well, my intent is right anyway--Jerome cannot speak for the individual members of Fdeluxe! BTW heard the rough mix of "Gas Light" and it sounds good--look forward to hearing the final version. wink

Were you talking to me? If so, sure, one person does not represent a band's view but if that person is part of something, you as a consumer have the right to purchase or not purchase the product. shrug

Impowerment now! lol

But anyway, sounds like the issue is moot. He's not going to be anywhere near this project and for that I am happy cause I can now buy it and enjoy it.

I agree. I like Jerome's performance, but it's more suited to the Time than the Family, especially now.

BTW, what exactly was he supposed to have said? - I don't want to drag the tread down, but the links didn't work.

Just a crazy thought: Would be cool if Fdeluxe were invited to be one of the support acts for the 'Welcome 2 America' thing. One can dream, right?

Right. It may only be that....a dream.

If Prince actually did that, I might look at him in a whole different light....

not that it's a bad light now. It just may be a brighter light.
