The problem with the first thing you posted is that, OK, so if there's some people who have a problem with Bria, which it seems like there are - what's to stop these people from making accounts deliberately talking about how awesome Bria is in an over-the-top manner and saying nasty things to others, just to incite backlash to suit their real agenda? I've seen that kinda thing happen on forums before. It's a dirty game to play but you know, that's the nature of the internet. People can hide their agendas behind anonymous monikers.

As for the second thing, no I don't think it's necessary for her to make live appearances. Not everyone is a live singer. I don't hear an abundance of auto-tune on her album that indicates her vocals have been massively tampered with (at least not any more so than any female artist), and as a producer and engineer myself, I can tell. If you have that attitude you're just gonna miss out on some great music.

As for Prince - the "real music by real musicians" thing really only applies to him, not so much people he works with, not to mention Prince only really says things like that when it suits his own project at the time - for instance Musicology being a very organic album.

I mean look at his track record with female artists. People like Vanity and Carmen Electra aren't exactly accomplished musicians - that isn't their purpose. Just take it for what it is. Britney Spears is no less of a great artist because she doesn't sing live, and neither is Bria.

I'm just an innocent bystander Prince fan that truly does not understand what's up with all the Bria hate. I don't have any agenda towards anyone and it's plainly obvious through my profile that I'm just a fan with no connections towards anyone.

From my perspective, which is just of someone who is a dedicated Prince fan and is trying to figure out what's going on - it's the people constantly bashing Bria that look the craziest to me. That's purely because it isn't immediately obvious what Bria has done to warrant such negativity from people. Maybe some of you guys are insiders and know Bria and Prince. Maybe not. Maybe you heard things through the grapevine from people that do know them. But for most of us that frequent and post on prince.org just because we are fans of Prince, we don't know these things and don't much care either. We just want to see a healthy happy community where people can post and enjoy what's going on without simple threads going out of hand and descending into arguments about who or what or when or why and cussing people, accusing people of things etc. It's not pleasant to read and quite frankly gets very tiresome.

I mean, I was listening to Bria's album today. I really like "Something You Already Know" and must have played it about 10 times just today alone. If I was to make a thread in here about how much I dig that song, would it descend into being another one of these threads? Am I going to get accused of being Bria? (LOL).

I'm not here 2 comment about bria's appearance, singing ability or personality. But i believe Elixir is 99% done by Prince (him providing instruments, the style/vibe, writing the songs, provide back vox, even taking the pics himself of bria that u c above^^^^^ and etc..). Only 1% goes 2 bria 4 singing . I am not going 2 front but i do enjoy listening 2 Elixir, there are a few songs that i like . Honestly the only reason i would even listen 2 this album is because it is associated with Prince. I would of care less about bria and elixir if Prince was not involve with it.
It is funny how there are a few certain people here who defend bria as if they personally know her, like she's a saint and she is perfect with no flaws. What i want 2 know from those people who act like true die hard fans of hers is this : What is so great about her besides her beauty and singing? She hasn't been in the entertainment industry 4 that long and only became noticeable when she started collaborating with prince a couple of years ago
