Yeah, I always prefered the video version too - it's a little more "full" sounding. The think the album version was intended to be a bit more minimalistic/experimental, but I don't think it really worked as well.

Now ive been doing some research on the net and it seems that the video is extended version. cool
Why isnt P as sensitive with this when it comes to copyright infringement, is he ashamed of it and tries to ignore it like it never happened?
I meen its easier to find then other P-vids. cool

I've never heard Susan sing. On Drive me wild and Make-up she speaks the words. Can she sing?

The 12'inch has some rhythm guitar and some lead guitar ala "Automatic". I'm not that crazy about the lead guitar on it though. Don't think it fits. Not crazy about the mix of the 12'inch either. I actually prefer the album version best. And I definately prefer the o.g. version of this video as well. When it's just the three of them in a hotel lobby of some sort. In that version, that's the finest I have ever seen Vanity look. She's all oiled up and shit! Yeah,...that woman was wicked fine in 82.

Yeah..the original just had Vanity, Susan and Brenda in it. And it's from the version that's on the album. The second video is when the group and all of these extras are dancing on this dancefloor. That's to the 12 inch version.

Brenda is the best singer out of Vanity 6 and Appollonia 6. She shoulda had a solo project IMO. A million miles and Some Kinda Lover rock!!

I've only seen the video with the 12" version of the song. It's very lengthy and starts off with Vanity and Brenda waking up Susan and taking her for a ride. They go to a wild party and start dancing with a bunch of extras. There's a rumor that Prince is one of the extras...dressed up in a clown costume! Big Chick can also be seen in this video.

Never seen the short version of the video, with the album version of the song.

Brenda had the best body too. She was thick in the right places. P respected her as well. She admired P, they all did. But she didn't kiss P's ass. Plus she was married to Roy Bennet, P's stage manager. So the dynamic between her and P were different. No sexual tension shit. Once a girl shows that towards P...it's just a matter of time. P will always have the upper hand in that scenerio because it's his thing, he's busy so he doesn't really have the time to show attention to any just one person. So it's a "catch me when I'm not busy" thing. So the head games girls try to run on cats wasn't going to play out with P. Basically cuz he just didn't have that kind of time. So if they really wanted P, then they had to go on the aggressive. Show their card, so to speak. Cuz I think P could play it off, even if he was interested. But if u worked with him, it was either in the studio, rehearsals or the shows. That was your chance. And P wasn't going to show himself in front of the band.

So is he just big pimpin with that attitude or is it maybe a cover to protect himself from getting played or falling for chick and being vulnerable. All that work ethic sounds just like the Prince/Mayte days. Working 24/7 and that's how you get close to him. Interesting! Those Time songs come to mind! hmmm He could have had some heavy successful female acts if he wasn't trippin like that! Save for Sheila the female artist in his orbit , be they legit or just wanting his drawyers and vice versa, get played!
