I enjoy talking about sex, but I am not sure how much I'd post there as I am a bit worried that it might attract more people who might see everybody who posts there as an easy target for offers I don't want to get.

That could be a part of the "read this first". We could make it clear that it is NOT a singles sight and many of the people who post freely on it are not looking for love or sex or pics of your limp biscuit either.

As Erin said quite sufficiently: The org needs a Sex & Relationships subforum and most other forums have them. Truth be told, General is a mixed bag and while that may be the point of the name "general" it can sometimes sway into nothing but a huge chunk of sex threads.

Those of us who -do- feel comfortable talking about sex, relationships, and similar topics should be able to do so without the added unease of having intimate details bouncing around someone's 65th installment of the NY Housewives thread or someone posting about their dead or dying relatives, etc.

Out of respect for all parties, the subforum should be added and allowed to flourish. The Org crew of current regulars are much more adult than the past groups of regulars anyway. Hell, that may end up meaning GD is a ghost town eventually. smile

I think this green part is the part that bothers me. It trivializes other peoples serious needs sometimes. It gives GD an awkward, WTF, flow to it.

Now, given that we have almost no mods how would we begin to even get this thing off the ground. I am liking my "Art Of" idea more and more. We definitely got what it takes to get the artist forum hopping like never before lol lol

lol Oh my. Sure I think it would be a good idea, though I don't really go into many of those threads. There have been some informative ones I've run across around here. Seems like a lot of the consistant orgers have gotten older with more diverse interest, so why not. Who're the "finger shakers", I've missed those?

Oh they are there. People have issues with stuff and just can't click off a thread. They have to make sure that you know that they were disgusted with it.

I think it's a good idea. Even though the thread says NSFW, the title is still there so if for some reason my bosses are following my internet usage, sometimes it looks like I'm some sex website with all these crazy ass sexual titles.

I don't care either way because I have little to nothing to contribute to them most of the time. pout And I don't care what my bosses think because I don't click on those titles anyway during work hours but I could see how some people might be reluctant to log in at all during work hours because of it.

I, like Deadflow3r, don't click on threads that don't interest me. Unfortunately, there are people that have to click on and reply to every thread. It's their right but if they're physically going to a forum that specializes in sex, they really can't get their panties in a wad over the content.

Who was the orger that told of their aunt eating a can of peaches before going on a date because it made her business taste better? I would like to thank him or her. Had they not posted that in the GD forum, I would have never known.

Yeah I guess that's a good thing that there are few orgers in my country lol. And a "read it first" like that would be a good thing too. I don't want to get any more orgnotes telling me that I sure must be interested in certain kind of chats as I post on the org in a certain way or post photos of myself or whatever. Of course these people completely ignore all my posts saying that I am in love with my boyfriend and not looking for anybody, but only focus on the ones they like to read rolleyes.

As for people trolling and then sending org notes to people who don't want them (I've had that

The short answer is that there was a lot of bitching and moaning about all the sex threads back in the day, so Ben created a "Love, Sex, and Relationships" forum as it was called. Then people continued to bitch and moan there was a forum called "Love, Sex and Relatioships" wheer people could discuss love, sex, and relationships. lol So Ben got rid of it, and we've been back at square one ever since.

Poop is GD material, not sexual. Poop threads will always stay in GD right along with the food threads unless sex is actually involved in the title, so a sex forum would NOT cure the thread topic variations.

So poop thread stay along with the awareness threads and the sick granny and dead doggie threads.

If I can recall, orgers (old schoolers) like Dex, and Humpthang told me that this is supposed to be a site catered to 18+ so Ben thought just labeling threads NSFW was good enough and the forum was discontinued allowing for fewer mods to have to juggle another forum.

This is what I remember being told to me as to "why" there was no sex related forum.

I think someone who's old-school can come in and correct me... I wasn't there, just going by what I was told.

My opinion is that even if we had an entire forum dedicated to all things sex... there would STILL be the holy-trolls rolling up in there calling me out on my ho-ism just like they do now. lol

Its the nature of the org. to have specific orgers troll forums to be negative. Seems like when any orgers are having too much fun there's always a "negative-Nancy" to poop on someone's party.

My one problem with the org. is the influx of teenagers trolling, I though we had to be 18 to join and I find it uncomfortable orging my personal biz with some nosy teenager that is in too deep into grown folks conversations.... but also I have witnessed orgers here give excellent advice to younger orgers and steer them in the proper direction. I myself have done that too... regarding sex. So in that sense, its all good.

So for me, a sex forum is not needed... what is needed IMHO quiet and swift system of making sure predators do NOT find information on the younger orgers here who foolishly post that they are virgins. I worry for the young ladies who share too much of them selves and they forget who is watching their every move.

I have heard too many instances of weirdos who lurk to victimize and/or stalk thge ladies here.

More warnings to this effect should be posted, and consequences should be swift.

twocents

I agree....but then again, I think I was 16 when I joined the Org lol

There is no age restriction to join the org.

Ah, OK... so we need an 18 and over forum for the sexual threads... because having teens read some of those posts are inappropriate to me.... and I mean the more crazy sex stuff like the" two girls one cup "-ish threads that pop up from time to time.

Yeah if teens are on the org. then we NEED a separate sex forum that allows limited access if that is possible.

No not the flirting ones. They're fine and harmless.

Well it's all harmless really but I just don't like going to GD to find people posting topics on the intricacies of their genitalia and discussing how many partners is too many. (just pulled those out randomly from memory)

But can you see the need for some people to discuss this?

Like maybe they were raised a Jehovah's Witness and they never had someone to openly discuss their own insecurities with.

I was raised Catholic by a woman who went to Mass every morning and at 3pm stopped and got down on her knees and said the rosary. Everyday!

Aint no way I would be asking her about anything.

I have posted my insecurites before but lets just say my body did not look ready for prime time and it would take some serious $$ for it to look like what seemed to be what most men were looking for.

I would have loved to have a paintedlady type in my life to just ask simple questions about stuff with. It would have made me a lot less insecure. Even now I like feedback to let me know just how far outside the bell curve I am.

hmmm I wish I had a "paintedlady" growing up as well... my mom ran hot and cold with her religion but she was always a total prude.. she couldn't even talk to me about menstual cycles. sad

So I figured out stuff on my own disbelief no wonder why I had a kid @ 19.

maybe I shouldn't read the thread backwards. lol

This would be the very best.

I have no clue how to set this up, which is no shocker to anyone since I still haven't gotten it figured out how to post pics lol lol lol lol

But we have people on the org all the time who know a great deal about computers, websites and whatever.

It is very clear to me that Ben does not want to spend any time here anymore. The passion seems to have left him for now I guess. Surely he is burnt out. If he could just delegate it to someone who has plenty of time and also knows what he is doing that would be great.

Imago and ZombieKitten are on here a lot and both know a great deal about computers. Luv4u already does almost everything as far as I can tell and should not even be involved in the sex forum.

Friends4sale is a music person almost exclusively. So who does that leave?

I would really love to see an 18 and up sex forum. If the kids want to talk dating in HS they can shove that in GD.

Honestly, you know how we can flag threads with emoticons?

Why not flag threads with categories: "sex, love, politics, sports, etc."

And allow orgers to filter out what they don't want to see.

Every time I see something about some stupid ass football player who gets into

trouble with the law, I'm guaranteed not to click it, but it would be great not

to see it either.

As for the sex forum, I think it's a good idea, but the problem is that

I am not a computer programmer, so I do not know what would be involved in setting up another forum. I don't know if it requires more bandwith, or hiring someone to write the code to enable such a forum to exist, but I do keep in mind, that this site is free, and if there are any costs, Ben has been paying for them himself, and as far as I know, has never asked for money.

I do think that for those people who are uncomfortable discussing sex in a general forum, perhaps a sex forum is needed. I will share this....I sometimes post on Kenny Loggins' website, and they have a general discussion forum (please no kenny loggins jokes). I have never seen a nsfw thread there, and I doubt I ever will. Probably those people who like Kenny are more conservative than a typical Prince fan, or a fan of the GD board.

Sometimes when I see the thread titles in GD, I don't stay long. "how long is your penis" "Is your vag shaved" "how many times have you had sex with sheep"....etc....etc.......I choose not to click on those threads because the topic doesn't matter to me. Unless it's a "show us your tits" thread, or a "show us your vaj" thread.....well...because. that would interest the voyuer in me. But discussing the time I ate a pussy for 3 hours, well that's my bidness

Does the org need a sex forum? I don't have the answer. If it did have a sex forum, I feel that it would be very hard to moderate, for fear of someone posting a pic of an underaged person engaged in a sexual act, or a post of a link to an illegal website. Maybe that's a risk Ben just doesn't want to even think about.

Would it be a forum I would visit? Probably...to see if there were any "show us your gorgeous poonannynanny" threads...
