linking to org threads?

Has anyone noticed that some of the links posted to other org threads do not take you to the intended thread?

The latest one I noticed is on the Eric Benet thread that was locked by June7. SCNDLS posted a link to the other benet thread but the link goes some Roger Sanchez post...eek

YES!!

It's completely fucked up, and it ONLY happens to prince.org URL references... it works perfectly ok when you link to another site.

Here's the issue:

If you link something like this: http://prince.org/msg/100/340664 which takes you to my human centipede thread, you end up with HTML code that should look like this:

<a href="http://prince.org/msg/100/340664">http://prince.org/msg/100/340664</a>

WHere the bolded blue is the URL link at the bolded Red is what you want everyone else to see.

But the org engine that translates your post and converts it to HTML before finishing the submission of your post, changes and fucks everything up CONSISTENTLY when it's an internal thread link.

Ergo, you get this:

<a href="http://prince.org/msg/5001/100">http://prince.org/msg/100/340664</a>

And that stupid ass link (the bolded blue part--notice how it changed and is different from the original bolded blue?) takes you to a Carmen Electra thread instead of the ass-to-mouth centipede thread I wanted everyone to go to. It's really annoying.

And it's consistent. It ALWAYS happens. It's not just a burp. It will happen 100% of the time you try to post a link to another thread.

You can see it happening here: http://prince.org/msg/100/340827 on reply #130. Sorry but you'll have to copy-and-paste or else the link will take you to the same useless Carmen Electra thread.

.

It is annoying as hell, but easily fixed by the user. Type (plain text) the [url][ /url] manually after pasting the link.

Why hasn't Ben added a simple [url] bracket placer to the editing menu? I hate typing those brackets.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I blame Facebook for this bullshit. It all started with that stupid "Like" button.

Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

I don't understand why all these so-called "improvements" have actually made posting on the Org MUCh harder. disbelief

But why would the link go to a completely different thread instead of just not working?

Because of the changes that Ben implemented this had created a bit of a change on how to post a thread. This was also unknown to me. After the changes came in when I would post a thread link redirected to another thread it would happen to me too and I was confuse as to why a link would go to a thread that had absolutely nothing to do with topic. Soooooo.... I tinkered with it and figured out how to. Now I can redirect again rather than say something along the lines of go to the so and so thread - yeah that's really helpful of me rolleyes
