How To Do This and That - (Due to The New Changes)

Well, since Ben made some changes some things don't work how they used to so we've all had to learn new ways of doing things through hit and miss.

I thought it would be a good idea to create this thread as a resource of information that we can all share and help one another as we still learn how to do some things a bit differently like posting youtube links or posting thread links for instance.

I'll be adding more helpful hints as I come across any.

It would save a lot of people from reaching for that bottle of extra strength tylenol lol

How to post a thread or other links

 • Add [the code --> url] in front of thread link
 • Add thread link after [the code ---> url]
 • Backspace after the last digit of the thread link to get rid of the underlining of the thread link.
 • And then add the [the code ---> /url] at the end of the thread link. There should be no underline.

And your thread will show up after you post it. And when it's posted it will have the usual underline showing then, so don't be alarmed. Then click on the link to check it.

Took me a bit to figure this out lol

How to post a youtube link

 • Copy your youtube link past it into typing area
 • Add the code in front of your youtube link
 • Backspace at the end of the youtube link to get rid of the underline
 • Add the code at the end of the link
 • Post youtube and voila!! smile

If you mean like some pic off of Google. eg http://farm2.static.flick...b5e6c1.jpg

Put at the end of link.

If you don't backspace once to get rid of the underline, the pic won't show. You can click preview to see how it will show up when you post.

I'm just testing. I thought I had an insert link up above when I first started posting here regularly again, but it seems to have completely disappeared. I was about to ask a Mod about this very thing. Hope it works...

Edit one, because I'm an idiot. lol

Hello,

Is it me or my PC or do links to the org that one posts on the org get mangled so that they no longer point to the intended content on the org?

Also:

Is there a way to not load the fancy editor? Not load the facebook ornaments?

I see all tpes of sites being contacted when openign a page or even starting a reply, aside from the org site itself. is that really necessary?

The snappy speed is really gone now.

Thanks for really looking into this.

Udo

And what about the link-function in the editor?

Even though we got the fancy editor we have to do this?

Can't the editor be fixed?

What actually goes wrong?

What about the snappiness of it all?
