Just read this on Yahoo.com. According to the article that I just read, Prince is expected to issue a full response to the fan sites' statement later today. You have a lot of explaining to do, Prince!! Hopefully he'll be clear in what he tells us, it won't be in some cryptic language that will leave us scratching our heads. We all know that sometimes Prince talks in circles. Wow thanks for the heads up...it should be interesting to say the least!  U want to know the secreat of love and happiness? But even through the slave era he was clear he was fighting against the oppression of artists with thier own work and copyrighting. On one interview (cant remember if it was chris rock or oprah) where he said that "sometimes I wanna call Warner Bros. Up and say thankyou! c'mere man give me a hug". But I think there are details about this thing alot of us arnt clear about. I myself am going to stop any negative comments towards Prince till I fully understand what that letter was about toward the sites ..and why he is (or the record label) is taking this action. I would very much like to know how they have substantiated just exactly how and what the sites are supposed to compensate Prince and these people for. Are they supposed to guess? Are they supposed to go through all old posts and count a dollar for every album cover that has ever been posted? Have they given any guidelines on how exactly they expect the websites to figure out how much they owe Prince? THE SITES OWE PRINCE FOR FREE PROMOTION!. Goddamn, that is what this comes down to. I posted a thread about the Around the world in a day album cover and all the little mysteries and interesting observations on it and that merits compensation to Prince and these companies?
