Who moderates the mods?

Who moderates the mods when a 'standard' Orger has an issue they want to raise with them and dont get an appropriate response?

I also put the question to you in general terms. Or are you not going to bother answering that coherently either?

The way it used to go was you talked to Ben if you had an issue with a mod but that was back when there were very few mods, 2 besides Ben and honestly I haven't had an issue with a mod since but I can't see why that should change. I don't know what it's about but I'd think that there should be a majority of 3 mods opinions that count, SHOULD being it's what I think and not how it is. twocents

oh great org hiccup...let me try thee one more time.

jd, you have issue with me? what for?

fyi: i haven't been on the org in a while...holiday weekend and what not so it's not a issue of "avoiding" anything...if you had orgnoted me giving me a heads up of your previous statements i would have addressed then (thats actually how i found out about this thread).

now my question for you is this, why do you feel my comments are offensive? im i not allowed to share my opinions on subjects with equal passion as you? am i breaking any site rules? walk me through why you are upset...cause i really don;t understand where you are coming from.

It has happened. We do moderate eachother. I've snipped some comments from moderators that have "gone too far" during conversation. I've had a thread of mine moved from Prince: Music & More to Concerts when I posted my review of the 3121 concert at the Rio... We are not above moderation. Hell, I even locked a thread by Ben during the whole Planet Earth sticky phase... eek (what was I thinking!).

I reviewed the thread you were talking about, when sos said "fuck, fuck, fuck". What's the big deal?

In all honesty, we've all cussed here and there on a thread. That's really not breaking any rules. If that were the case we'd never get anything done. If he were saying "Fuck You, Fuck Off, You Fucker!" or any variation as to it being a personal attack on you, then I would have snipped it and warned him that his statements were not acceptable.

Moderating is a funny business. I feel that the regular orger just expects us to moderate this site and when we post, to do so without expression... that just isn't the way it goes here. I love this site! I've been coming here since '98 or so, and was an orger first - who truly enjoys the communication here.

As a moderator, I understand that the job comes with responsibilities that require that we maintain a certain level of respect... and I feel, in general, we do. On occasion we've failed, and we've called eachother on it, but using a few explatives in speaking our minds is not a violation of our position. Cursing at you would be another story, and that isn't what happen.

I'm not here to preach or lecture or anything like that; I hope I'm just answering the question you asked, and that it's coming across in a fair and honest way. It's a valid question - I hope I did the answer justice... mods?

WHAT????? You've been gone for personal reasons????
I fully expect you had a computer on vacation, and kept up with site stuff.....no dropping off for nonsense, including fun. Communication between mods must be at the top of your list of "things to do in the AM when crawling out of bed.....".

i at times question a certain mods ability to be nonpartial in his moderation skills.

last night he proved again to me that at times he is unable at times to leave his personal issues out of his ability to be a mod.

He is extremely rude these days, and it seems his head has gotten a little big lately. He is insulting to others yet censors at his own little smug whim.

yeah, last night getting upset because people aren't trashing a celebrity, but lets other orgers attack orgers and joins in because he doesn't agree with or like the people being attacked.

not the orgs greatest mod.

oh my lord you two have to be joking, right? falloff

what needed to be mod'd on the britney thread? there were no rules broken...and it wasn't until two folks reached a level of extremes that i decided to step in...and that was today...and i snipped both sides of the argument...

but tell me, how am i being impartial now?

and finally, yeah...so i disagreed with your point of the arguement...big whoo? are you that upset that you are going to post the above comment? thats really classy ehhuffnsd...

that thread is open...i have not snipped any of my participation...folks can read the conversation in its entirety with the exception of the two peoples comments which had nothing to do with own participation in the debate...

and were in the world are you getting that i was upset? i was having fun up in that thread...i enjoyed my part in it...it wasn't until two folks took things to the extreme that the thread went overboard and warranted moderation...

and if anyone wants to witness the baseless accusations from effhuffnsd and gemini witness the thread yourself: http://prince.org/msg/8/243777

please note the two individuals who got their comments snipped...those were the only comments moderated...yet for some reason gemini has eluded to me snipping various commments...in fact, those happen to be the only comments within a debate i have snipped in months...could be six months...

yet the accusation is there...in public...for others to believe...real class!!! confused
