Musician's Forum!!!

JDODSON posted this idea in another thread and I wanted to second the motion!!! This is a great idea! Here is what he said:

I believe that a ORG musicians only forum would be a good idea for all musically oriented people on here to share song ideas, lyrics, opinions of each others music, links such as mp3 links, concert info, constructive criticism, and other items of topic. Also, there should be one for all artists in general, like painters, poets, graphic arts, photography, etc.

Of course HRH GregoryAlive would have as equal rights to use this forum as JDodson, Cloud9 etc...

This just makes too much sense for a site dedicated to Prince, and the discussion would be far too meaningful for prince.org. Sorry, B-side, but ain't it the truth... lately? However, I would be interested in seeing what those trash-mouthed orgers would NOT be capable of offering to a Musicians' Forum. Even more interested in hearing from true musicians. Cloud 9 [Lewis] is very good. Who else has something to share? I do. Let's see if something like this takes off... at least.

I think it would change the way music is written.

Why would you do this? Reasons include if the message...

*violates the prince.org user agreement member conduct rules
*is especially good, and should be considered for expansion into a 'feature' or dedicated news item

i think it's a great idea... i love hearing what other musicians are doing.. and i've always said... Prince is the definitive "musicians' musician"

This sounds like a cool idea to say the least but Im worried that there will only be 6 of us in there. I dont think there are enough musicians on the org to warrent a whole forum. It would be nice but would we really be able to chat in such small numbers?

Hopefully, a musicians forum will be where those of us who want to discuss Prince's music as well as our own, could escape some of the nonsense on this site.

Of course anyone could add a comment. There are a lot of people here who play an instrument or two, and they might have a musical question, like where can I find sheet music for ___, or what are the chords to ___. Personally, I'd like some recording tips from JDODSON, but I guess we could chat about that on IM. However, I think other people could benefit from seeing that conversation on this website.

And then there is the networking aspect that would be cool, meeting other people who create music. I think there are more than 6 people on this site that do that. Plus, we could have our own threads and get feedback from other musicians. And yes, promote our own music, websites and shows, etc.

Of course meeting other artists (painters, graphic designers, etc) would be cool, becasue what if someone needs some album cover artwork, or feedback on what they are working on?

All in all it would be a place where we could ask questions and find topics we (as artists) are interested in without having to sift through, things like : I WONDER WHEN MICHEAL JACKSON'S FACE IS GOING TO FALL OFF? , Blowjob etiquette and I'm Leaving.
