Wow! Is this what Prince fans these days have been reduced to? To calling mundane, middle-of-the-road fluff pieces "masterpieces"?? It's a shame that Prince set his bar so low now that a lot of his "fans" are actually satisfied with completely unmoving tunes like he's been "granting" us with. You guys say, "Well, he didn't have to release anything!", "Why complain when it's free??", as if those are perfectly legit reasons to TRY to like and/or appreciate a song. I'm sorry, but a song has to actually be GOOD in order to get more than one listen and praise.

So, this site will just be something else he'll be done with by April. I mean, when you put 2013 in the URL, you know he has no long-term plans for it. But now that he decides to come back to the web, what does he do? He wants to release (not even sure about that) something that has already been leaked in damn near perfect quality!! Why not do this when some people were clamoring for it...BEFORE it leaked?? Again, he's a day late and (a dollar) short. And don't even get me started on his use of YouTube and triple-eyed chick. rolleyes

What has happened to this site (the Org)? I've been a lurker for years here, and have seen the voices of reasons steadily decline. I used to love reading the free, non ass-kissing opinions of a few users on here, but they all left (probably finally completely bored with Prince's recent output). Where's Vitriol, Wall, Love4OneAnother, Alexnvrmnd, Wall, Bboy, SCNDLS, and a couple of others? Hell, people pick on Bart when he's one of the ONLY ones left here who doesn't swallow Prince's bullshit, just because he's 54, still alive, and still recording - which means I guess we're all supposed to worship at his feet, regardless of how crappy his output is.

And for those people who are going to say, "Why are you finally here if you don't like him so much?", to you I say I'm here to discuss him and his works (live and studio) back when he actually still cared what he released and went to the live stage with. Vivia la (older) bootlegs!

Yep

DIAMONDGEEZA

Never felt this happy since 20ten<img src=" />.I did like rock n roll love affair but this new track was so instantly more enjoyable .Any doubters of the artist formally known as sqiggle will be eating there words soon.if i get an album thats at least as enjoyable as musicology or has some more substance like The Rainbow Children then i have had the best year in a long time as a prince fan.Look forward to another live in las vegas<img src=" /> and i have heard the whole Andy Allo album and i still think that all prince's name has done for her is give her a lucky push to help her career along.if her album was put under my nose without any knowledge of prince i would still mark it highly. Some digital remasters packaged with new material sometime soon also and Paradise will indeed be on Earth.<img src=" />

I'm hear because I want to be... and I want Prince to be good again. I'm your dirver your my screw? Riiight its rockin! lol

If you like the song great but that doesn't mean everyone has to. No one but people here are going to pay attention to songs like Screwdriver and Rock and Roll Love Affair. They are horrible

Everyone - as much as I am a huge fan and have been a member here for MANY years - I have to agree with this. I want to like this new output but man it really kinda sucks. Ask yourself if anyone else on the planet released songs like Screwdriver or RNR - pick for instance Lenny Kravitz - if you wouldn't say "man that is pretty weak".

No I am not trolling - just want the man to be great again. Heck I thought Dreamer and Colonized Mind were great so he has some (fairly) recent good output but it is getting much harder to get on board latelty...

With most Prince songs it is "different strokes for different folks". You can take any tune he has released and there are some people who absolutely love it, and others who pan it as garbage.

This got me thinking the other day. Knowing Prince as the controlling, perfectionist, genius that we all know him to be, what do you think is more likely? Prince just decided to create, nurture, refine, rehearse, record and release complete shite, OR perhaps some just have not given it enough spins, or they just don't feel it due to their personal tastes?

Many times, I have hated Prince songs to only love them later on so I am leaning toward the latter as being the more likely. Not saying he is infallible (see Jughead), but he certainly knows a lot more about creating great music then I do.

I agree with this (things in bold). We all have different tastes, and - especially with Prince - a lot of times people will love a song that others hate. It does not say anything about his (lack of) writing skill if he puts out music that some don't like, it is a very subjective thing.

I'm a good example, I loved everything Prince did in the 80s, and in the 90s up to the Gold Experience, but he lost me with Emancipation and everything that followed. It just was not my cup of tea ... at the time. Now when I listen to some of those CDs I do like them, or at least I find enough songs on them that stand out. I did not think that he lost it or he was no longer good or whatever it is that people here accuse Prince of ... I just thought "okay, this is not for me".

Prince is so versatile, and makes so many different styles of music, it is only natural that we all don't always love every new song he creates!! But please, guys, give him a break - he is still the music genius who has wonderful music in him. I have no doubt about that at all. And if some of you cannot be satisfied with anything he does, then it is certainly not his fault.

You're all crazy if you think Screwdriver is as good as you think it is. I think its crap. I also think everyone's just excited that hes finaly releasing some new stuff.

And Ill say it: If thats the hyped-up girl band playing on that track, this shit is gonna be a problem. I can already tell I feel these girls wont be able to hang with him. They sound flat, and I think hes doing this because hes never had an all-girl band before.

We expect better. Man, even his guitar sounds ehhhhhh.

Sorry. Actually, Im not sorry. And I know for a fact im not the only one that aint feelin this.

You're crazy if you think Screwdriver is crap. Either that or it's just your opinion and you're entitled to that, just as I'm entitled to my opinion. And for the record, you have no idea how good anyone 'thinks' it is. Is anyone claiming it's his best track ever? Nope.

Screwdriver is just a fun and quite catchy little song, it is Prince doing something different (well, not thát different to C&D). It is not a masterpiece, no, but it might be a way back to the radio for Prince.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Yo Prince. Once and for all, LOSE the flashy cryptic hidden egg websites. A simple page that linked to ALL those supposed grooves up on the shelves would suffice. Charge $7 each, or $19.99, or $31.21, or whatever, and you'd make millions overnight. Why are you waiting until there are only a handful of diehards that might still be interested?

Prince is NEVER going to do things the normal way or what is expected. He is always going to walk to the beat of a different drummer. That is what makes him unique. Anyone that follows him should know that...That why peeps get frustrated with him. He is also full of surprises which was found out with 3rd eye Girl & 20Princ3.com. Be patient & let the "Ryde Devine"...

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

That's kind of my point. Prince's websites have looked the same since the '90s. A clean user friendly minimally designed site with plenty of items fans have actually asked for WOULD BE totally UNEXPECTED at this point.

Something needs to happen soon, this is bad as when he just launches a web site that says, 'something big is coming'. Why open the site and then do nothing with it for ages?

It would have been better left until more content was ready. Soon please Prince.

All that Dakota rehearsal and the third eye girl youtube material should be on there already. I dont get it and I agree that it should have had already had more substantial content before even dropping to the public.

Not good, bad or indifferent, but Prince really seems to be drawn to the "space" motifs when it comes to his websites and cyber projects.

Starting with the Interactive CD-ROM, through LotusFlow3r and now 20princ3.com. Even the Crystal Ball online lyric site had a spacey vibe to it.

Wow! Thank you so much for pointing that out!

You see, I thought I liked "Screwdriver". What did I know?!? Playing it, watching the video, jamming to it - if only I'd known I was digging crap! For some reason, I thought I was rocking out to something I liked!

But now I know that I am crazy. Wait - I WAS crazy. You see, thanks to kygermo's astute judgment of me, I am abandoning my love for "Screwdriver". Therefore, because of the personal advice given to me by a complete stranger, I am now certifiably sane again!

Kygermo, you may not be apologizing for your global judgment on humanity (and you shouldn't! Everyone needs judgment from strangers!) but I hope you'll accept my humble thanks for.......well, for nothing less than saving my life.

Now, please excuse me while I go melt all the computers onto which I'd downloaded "Screwdriver".

Eh... I guess I'm one of the only ones who don't mind waiting. I'm in no rush really for anything big or whatever but maybe that's just me. I'm extremely patient and I know that nothing that an earthly man promises (in this day and time) is ever written in stone. I'm content with what Prince has shelled out throughout the years, I listen to the things that I love right from the start and revisit others later. I'm glad that I'm not famous, because it seems like that when you're famous people seem to think that you owe them confused . We must realize that we are all human, and who knows, the man may just be extremely busy. Not all of us sit around twiddling our thumbs waiting on things to happen lol. I like Prince's music, so I'm going to continue to support. Simple as that.

He's readying for a tour so that's where his focus is. He should still throw some more nuggets up there. Don't start up a website then totally desert it after a week and a half. I would rather him wait until he has more to offer is all. With prince this type of stuff comes with the territory unfortunately .
