If this is the real intention of the website, he could go about it in a more lucrative way. I have no doubt that nearly all of those who fall into this category he is purportedly targeting would happily fork over $17 (since he likes 7s) per disc of studio outtakes in good quality. Heck, make them $77 for a 4-disc set and people would still be all about it, I feel. With the amount of material that Prince has, that would make for a mighty pretty penny.

However, I'm starting to wonder if it even is possible for Prince to put up high-quality vault music, given the fact that much of the stuff on the website seems to be digitized versions of inferior-quality VHS recordings. I remember reading a few years ago here that the vault music was simply gathering dust and deteriorating in the process. Maybe that shiny copy of "Neon Telephone" just is impossible to have, now.

THe only reason I ever got a boot was because it was not available officially. I had the Black Album since 1988 - on original vinyl and a boot CD. I bought it anyway when it was finally released in the early 90s. That was the concept of Crysal Ball: officalling releasing long bootlegged amterial for those hardcore fans who would appreciate it the most. I always believed Prince should have done something like that and then he finally did - an indication that he is at least somewhat aware of what peple say and do.

I can remember Prince telling the general audiences during concerts that the club members were sitting in the good seats. I can remember the hate from those concert goers who refused to join as club members were ushered pass them in line to the reserved section down front. I alsways wondered how many of them were doubters who refused to pay and clowned those who did.
