well at least anyone who has never seen this should be happy cuz it is an awesome lil performance . I think it was included to go with the concept of this lotus project as being one of the three groups he is touring with this being the New Power Trio Edition

I think it's a good video. But I think anyone who paid 77 dollars for access to a Prince site, probably has seen it already. Nice addition though. IMO, he should put up all of the VHS videos...Gett Off, D&P, etc.

I paid $77 because I haven't seen most of the stuff out there.

You'd be surprised at how little Prince material and exposure there is in the UK even after the O2 residency.
So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young?

I already showed my gratitude on page 1 BUT....

I get it. People are pissed because so far we've only been given what we've already seen (or most of us have seen). But I AM a hardcore fan, who got into Prince back when Musicology came out. And I joined LotusFlow3r eager to be part of an official Prince site. So stuff like the Undertaker, while I may have seen bits and piece of it on YouTube etc, is really exciting for me. In fact, I watched it yesterday and jammed along with my guitar the whole time. Now, I have blisters on my fingers. cool

I'm not trying to tell other people to be more "thankful" or whatever. I just want to reiterate that I am happy with LotusFlow3r so far.

What does being happy or not for other people have to do with people's own (lack of) satisfaction?

Suggesting that we have a stake in the happiness of others suggests that what P. has in mind is actually building a community, which is the one thing that he seems to have carefully avoided with lf.

WORD this is just plain whack. Weren't some clips of this video released under the NPG Online LTD/NPGMC version 1 with the monthly updates?

Watch next month we'll get those concert clips from the Hit-n-Run 2000 tour and the Hot Wit U video rolleyes

I'm not happy to not get more things I haven't seen before.

However:

- I'm happy to finally kick some money Prince's way for things I've enjoyed but acquired through other means. I've had the Sacrifice Of Victor and The undertaker videos for over a decade but they were dubs. At least Prince is finally getting some return on the videos. Face it, the vast majority of us who have seen and loved/hated these videos didn't give Prince any money for them. Now some of us have.

- It's cool that some folks who haven't seen them before are now getting the opportunity to see them.

I would be irritated but understanding if Prince took this opportunity to provide material most of us already have but haven't paid him for. I can't be too mad at him for "rehashing" things that never saw a wide release. Things he has gained in reputation from having created but hasn't benefited from financially.

I'm not sure how much money WB gave him for those VHS/laserdisc releases but I can imagine it probably wasn't very much. Certainly the royalties, beyond whatever advance he got (if he got one at all), wouldn't have amounted to much.

The Undertaker is a great video. It should be released on dvd someday. Not sure how that would work with WBs?

I'll quit judging LFs worth by one update. I think something is cooking in the oven.

I don't believe Prince will fuck his core fans in the end.

Log in to the site, click on the middle world for the lotus flow3r album, then click on Prince's chin. This will bring up the spinning globe thing, which has all the photo and video thumbnails.

After that, just spin round the globe until you find it. Can't be more precise as it's a crappy interface.

Am I the only who remembers clips of The Undertaker being released as part of the monthly download version of the NPG Music Club? This isn't entirely unreleased even by official standards.

I have no problem being a "patron of the arts" to subsidize his independent production of art, though--that is one of the reasons I have not hesitated to support his online endeavors and other independent moves.

However, I am not sure I signed on to pay $77 to Prince so he could recuperate lost earnings from Warner Bros.--that beef is between the two of them. I am already paying to bail out thieving bankers & mortgage brokers via TARP in the name of economic recovery... am I also to bail out WB's debt to Prince? If he really is owed revenue from them then he needs to take that shit up with them--not fine his audience.

I remember that too. It was also officially released in full, on VHS in the UK. Think it was an official laser disc release in Japan too.

Why on earth would I be excited about a 'new' video that most of us probably bought years ago.
I'd like to see the recent performances on Leno and Ellen.

Here's hoping for NEW content.

A DVD of The Undertaker was going to be released under the NPGMC banner back in 2001 - a company was commissioned to create the DVD menus in the style of the NPGMC website (they put it up on the net for awhile). In the end, all we got was a few downloadable clips.

Although it would be nice to have it in proper DVD quality, it is far from exclusive - available by legal means for a decade and a half!

So what? Undertaker is 15+ (!) years old, and has been available on an official VHS, and that one has been converted to DVD at least once I bet.

a-still, the point remains that a lot of people haven't seen it yet - thus no reason to be surprised or belittle the people who are happy to see it up there - or even the motivation for putting it up there in the first place.

b-eeeehhhh, No! I asked if he'd seen it in that particular quality. I didn't use the word "quality" as a pseudonym or adjective.

Could have been? I think the explanation for the quality was they didn't have the masters.

Never mind, you can still watch it at home, but make it feel like you are watching it at Lotusflow3r.com
Turn off all the lights and sit infront of your TV. Play a little spooky muzak in the background.

Grab a piece of paper from the floor and toss it into the air to replicate the flying sign-in ticket.

Stare at your blank screen for 20 minutes.

Put your VHS tape into your VHS player, but don't press play.

Stare at your blank screen for 20 minutes.

Wait.....wait....wait....wait.....wait.....press play once 20 minutes of your blank screen has elapsed.

After 3 minutes press pause, wait 2 minutes, then press play. After 3 minutes press pause, wait 2 minutes then press play (continue this 3 minutes on/2 minutes off regime until the credits roll).

To make it even more realistic, also burn $77.
