Connecting Bria and the Website to the music is tragic.

If Lotusflow3r and MPLSound were released as a double CD and he toured in support of it, we would all be very happy.

The website fiasco and the Elixer fluff have taken away from this otherwise good piece of work.

syble

i think alot of people slammed the elixia album before even hearing it, i think its pretty good, princes writing is very strong both lyrically and musically. I have to say I am happily surprised. But I shouldnt be really, just cos hes using a female vocal on it shouldnt detract from the fact that its his work.

people still rate shiela e, appollonia, etc etc is that because of nostalgia or cos they REALLY rate their music (princes)?? just wondering.

It's really sad that Bria is tied to the website and that unless someone pays $77 they won't be able to download her record. She is a victim of Prince's ego and that is really sad and shameful of Prince. She deserves a proper release without all the bullshit. Now, her record is going to be connected to one of the biggest web failures in music history!

Seriously, do you really believe it's one of the biggest web failures in history? The demand for the site obviously wasn't expected. Once people get their downloads, it will run smoother. Also, be sure that the web team are monitoring it and will fix what needs to be fixed.

I checked it out today at work, where I have a maxed-out Mac Pro tower (as opposed to my 5-year old iMac at home). The videos worked fine, and the load times were a lot faster.

A lot of it has to do with the user's computer.

Actually, I believe Prince is so one sided. His designers didn't think about different systems. They only thought about the users that had Firefox, a Mac, and membership. Bogus.

I do think download speeds are quite respectable for a first day open.
The Bria CD is a taste matter.
I do think it is actually more enjoyable than I thought.
I even kinda like it! (Yes, quote me...) biggrin

I am not so sure about the monitoring.
The corrupt download for MPLSound will not give any errors on the site.
They need to check their email and voicemail.
Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Why ask that question?

Nope. I'm curious as to why U asked about Tamar.

I personally think if Tamar (or a similar kind of vocalist) had been featured instead, some people would not ignore or even resent this Elixer album....

that's just because tamar is long gone by now. people only hate the woman
prince is currently linked to musically and romantically.

it's amazing what kind of horrible shit people say about bria just 'cause
she recorded some songs with prince. it's not like she's the first ever
protege to have a full album produced by prince and she probably won't be
the last.

her voice is pleasant enough and she's never done anything to tick any of
us off. heck, we have hardly even seen or heard anything about her 'xcept
a few pictures and song previews. yet all of a sudden half the org is now
acting like they only listen to prince and clasically trained high range
female vocal wonders who write and play their own material, lol. that is
soooo not true haha.

yet people act like prince wanted to release elixir by himself with his
own vocals and bria somehow blackmailed him into letting her sing on it
and thus screwed "fans" out of a third f^cking prince album for $12,-

falloff

folks should just stand up, step back and give all this music some time
to breathe and if they still feel they don't like it in a few weeks, so
be it, to each their own. but it's sad that people just hate so badly
for no reason at all.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I have to call you out on that, because none of what he's using on the LotusFlow3r site is Mac-specific. Not Firefox, not Flash, and surely not WAV or MP3 files. Firefox is a free download, by the way, and any PC user should have it anyway (Internet Explorer is not as secure or stable).

During the Musicology store days, the store and music files were clearly targeted at PC users.

Also - I have done website design, and I can assure you it was tested on both platforms. It really is kinda mandatory to make sure everything works.

Yeah, there are several uptempo songs on her album that are pretty good.
