Nobody but you fams could like that artwork, swear to god.

There was a time when his music AND his album covers were both awesome, no we get cheesy music and artwork.
And people wonder why his new music doesn’t get radio airplay. The website so far is laughably gaudy.

I hope the albums are good, i really do but “Forever”, and “Never Be Another Like Me” are the same ol’ stale cheese he’s been serving to starving fams since 1990

well, hubby is not a fam, and he thinks the artwork is pretty cool. That is the first thing he mentioned when I showed him the new site...
Sooooo, guess it is not just us "fams"...
Plus...I still dig the music, and have def. dug a lot of the tunes he has thrown at us since the 90's...

Very true. It looks more like a Scientology or some other grade B cult recruitment site than one to distribute pop music. Considering the blind faith his fams have in him, I suppose it's therefore rather fitting.

Gosh, considering you are continuously on this site posting, U must have blind faith too, eh???
Yessss, U DO!!!

Oh please. "Deep and symbolic." You need a reference point for something to be 'deep and symbolic' and not just a masturbatory hodge-podge of images dedicated to your own ego which is all the site is. Just because there are empty, cliche' laden symbols like pyramids doesn't mean you're going to discover the secrets to the universe, I don't care how many of you count all the different shades of blue and subtract them from the number of half circles on the left hand side of the gaudy image.

I have no doubt the second part of your statement is true however and is the prime reason so many here are dazzled by the so called design.
No hard feelings.

have you heard what is played on the radio today? your taste must be waaaaayyyy different than mine. lol

god i would hope so,
...and not just mine, fams taste in music is also waaaayyyyy diffrent from the general population also

Well, of course it is. There is a reason we are fams. If you love the "sound", "vibe", "feeling" you get from Prince music, then you are hooked. There are, of course, people out there that just do not really get into anything Prince does, except maybe the occasional hit...But, if you love the feeling he gives you, the sound, the music, then yeah...u will more than likely love any of it more than the general population. And, there is nothing at all wrong with that.
I dislike country music, except for the occasional song. But, there are Kenny Chesney fans that love everything he puts out. I, for one, am not one of those peeps...

Still, it's Prince himself who decides who stays and who doesn't. The simple fact that he doesn't seem to attract talented people is telling. That people like Parke and Samnation were his go-to guys for design for so many years...

I think the site looks very promising and am just thrilled to have an official site again.

IMHO: not that official. It's once again just an album related-site, not an official Prince presence. Betcha it's yet another black hole in a year or two.

Oh - I'm sure you're right. Little if anything with Prince has a lifetime of more than 2 years. By official I just meant paid for by Prince. Better as a fan to just enjoy what's there or be patient for something new, which will be sooner rather than later.

LOL...

Some of you need to get some help... really. Therapy or meds may solve these issues you have with your constant pissing on a fan site dedicated to an artist you obviously no longer like or respect. Its not even about the music... you claim to not like anything since gawd knows when.

Living on what used to be and comparing everything to it is really pathetic.

If you don't like the show... just go. Quit sounding like the spurned GF who won't lose the number.

I have nothing against constructive or negative criticism... or even pessimistic views. but damn! Too much.

Exactly...It makes me laugh when people always complain about Prince's newer music. If an artist does not search for and try new things, then what kind of artist is he/she?
THEN, it would be the same ole' same ole' thing, eh??
Finding new things, and exploring new avenues is smart!
IMO...

npggirl77, you and some other fams seem very sweet and very honest in your opinions, and i usually don’t respond to your posts because i respect you appreciation.
That being said, as a "fan" and i am a fan or else i wouldn’t be here if i didn’t enjoy listening and participating in discussion of Prince music, pro and con.
Some of us are just a little more critical is all, lol

In this sea of unadulterated gushing, what are there here? like three of us that are more critical? Take it all with a grain of salt.

Enjoy, these are all just fan opinions

Actually there is a lot of deep symbology within the picture. But I won't go into that with you, as you seem to not truly be interested.

One thing that I think that everyone needs to keep in mind is that art is subjective, not objective. Not all art will touch all people. There will be those that will be appreciative of a piece of art (musical, or otherwise), and it will touch them deeply, and there will be those that will gain some appreciation for the piece of art, and others who the art will not touch whatsoever. There is nothing wrong with any of these scenarios, as each individual views art based upon their own perceptions or interpretations, and will take from that piece of art whatever they take from it. So the fact that you dislike it, no biggy. This art (music and site) does not speak to you, but I would suggest not stereotyping those that the art does speak to. It's what makes us great as individuals, we are each touched by those things that reach out to us, or we are not.

Hi there...
Actually, I attempt to take things with a grain of salt as well, and anyone's opinion is of course, welcomed and respected.
But, my above post that you quoted is true..at least to me.however, the fans or nonfans, who continue to say that Prince has not put out anything great since the 90's..is missing the fact that he has been exploring new avenues and jusst playing with sounds. Well, maybe they are not missing the fact, maybe they just are not digging the new stuff...
But, a lot of us are!
I personally think it is a smart move for an artist to explore and experiment with new music and sounds.
And I personally love a lot of the music that is recent.
But, that is ME....what I like.

Do Prince's online fans get priority access to his concert tickets?

I know this place is unofficial, but is there somewhere we can register in case?

Good to know u are an art major! I have taken several classes myself, but still wonder about the deepness of this famous piece.
Can u help? (yeah it is a lil off topic, but since it went there anyway)

Entitled:
Edvard Munch's famous paintings "The Scream"
It's a girl, um, screaming...
Yeah, is she sad? scared? if scared, of what? what does this symbolize?
She appears to be on a bridge...
I guess I could just google the meaning...
OR, I could take from it, what I get from it...which is not much..lol

As far as I know, all of this is still unknown...
However, I would become a "paying" member, to get benefits like the NPGMC used to have such as option to purchase concert tickets before they went on sale to the general public...
When I was able to do that via the club, I got front row tickets not once, but twice! Loved that! haha
