speaking from a business sense...

do you think that this whole thing about the 'big missing part' on the tour could be because, the first show being taped and sent out live as it was, is part of a new DVD comming out ? i mean, think about it, many people saw it, and most everyone has been very excited about it, what if he never does that again in the tour, but releases a DVD of that performance when the tour is done ? would that be so bad ? hell, if i was him thats what i would do....you guys are so excited about it, theres gotta be a lot of money in something like that.....oh well, just my thoughts, what do you think ?

He already did the acoustic set on the tour after the first show. Your entire theory is based on something that is incorrect.

I had the same thought...that was VERY uncool looking to have a couple of those women up there behind Prince for so long...I mean that one HUGE woman was right in the middle of the stage for what seeemed like FOREVER. It was veyr distracting and unpleasant to look at her. I mean God bless her and it's not her fault, but it was a bad move to have such unattractive people (physically) up there onstage. They should only pull hot chicks up there and maybe a few guys, but none who look too dorky.

This would certainly exclude lots of people (including me, actually), but it would make it a better show for the rest of the audienc.e. I think it's absurd to have people onstage in the first place, but at least if you are going to do it, just limit to some eye candy or someone who doesn't sap the energy from the room.

listen rupertZ, the thing is, i think its very cool that prince puts people -- real people on stage, he doesnt feel the need to put "eye candy" as you say up there. have you never noticed that prince usually pulls regular people up there with him ? i think its awesome to give everyone a chance at that moment, not just beautiful women, but ALL women... he recognizes that his fans are just that, they are fans, and at the end of the day it doesnt matter if they are size 4 or a size 44, he sees the beauty in all of them, that my friend is one of the things that sets him aside from all the other performers, i loved rosie gains....she has a beautiful voice, and i think she added a lot to his work during her time with him, but, do you really think that someone who thinks about how someone looks next to him would have had her singing with him ?? shes not so much "eye candy" as you say, more like a wonderful woman that he saw beauty in.....maybe you all could take lessons from him, and see that people are people, in this case, we are all people who love and admire prince rose

Don't waste your breathe Nekkid. Neanderthals like those calling women "lady-whales" are not worth the energy.

I have 2 beautiful daughters. I pray they are able to see the shriveled up spirits of people like this and steer very clear of them.

Your Rosie Gaines analogy is absurd....Rosie was onstage with Prince because she was incredibly talented and ADDED something to the show. Having some 300lb chick onstage DETRACTS from the show for everyone else in the audience.

And putting "real people" on the stage is just some transparent ploy to appear like you are "connecting" with your fans. In reality, it just hurts the quality of the show. I'd rather see Prince up there than some hot chick or anyone else. I don't need some "real person" blocking my view or otherwise distracting me. And when it is a very large, physically unnatractive person, it just makes it all the worse.

It is true that "people are people" as you say. It is also true that "fat people are fat people" and "fat people are unpleasant to look at when they are grossly overweight". I don't pay $100 to see some gross, fat chick dancing onstage...I pay it to see and hear Prince and his talented band members.

like i said before, its a shame you dont get it...are you young ? cuz that would most likely explain your reasoning behind the things you have said.

your final quote up here is less than impressive, and i personally think you have a lot to learn in life, THANKFULLY prince is the one in charge, and i suspect that even though you have such a hard time with this, things will remain the way they have been all along woot! perhaps you could take along a copy of hustler and stare at that while the people you find so offensive are enjoying their once in a lifetime opportunity shrug i suggest stepping outside yourself, and your childish attitude, and see it for what it is, people having fun !! dont be such a stick in the mud, loosen up and party dancing jig dancing jig

go ahead, women of all shapes and sizes, do yo thing, and enjoy all the show has to offer you woot! woot!

The point is that I don't want to look at Hustler or hot chicks onstage. I'm there for the music and to SEE Prince...not some hot chick onstage, and even WORSE, some big fat woman onstage.

As far as stepping outside yourself, maybe the people onstage should do this. It's not all about them...it's about Prince.

I guess I have to...they locked the other thread discussing this. Oh well, that's OK. The people in there were getting a bit rude and rowdy. It is sad, but very true that some people just can't handle the truth, and the realities of the world.

I was wrong and I admit it. I regret my use of the term "lady-whales." Any criticism on this point is well deserved and well taken. This was and insensitive comment and I truly apologize to those org members I may have offended, for what its worth. My mother taught me better, so please don't let my remarks reflect poorly on her.

Having said that, I still believe Columbia will not release a DVD of the LA show, at least not without editing out significant portions of the dancing fans. Everyone can agree that American media is saturated with sexual content that objectifies women. Everyone can agree that this is particularly true in the music industry. Fine. Notwithstanding my previous use of pejorative terms, I do believe that this state of affairs is ultimately socially harmful. I am not one for censorship, but do we really need to see Janet's titties at half time? Nevertheless, it is what it is and Columbia is not in the business of selling what I saw on the big screen when the fans hit the stage in LA. Columbia is in the business of selling Jessica Simpson, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Destiny's Child, The Dixie Chicks, and Lauryn Hill. They will sell Prince the same way. I am NOT saying this is OK, but, with Columbia's track record, what else should I expect?

He does this (pulls people up on stage) for one song, right? It's hardly going to blow the experience for you. If it does, it's YOUR issue, you're allowing it to bother you. Unfortunate.
