We weren't able to get any tickets via Ticketmaster, there 800 number or the Xcel 800 number. At 11:30 AM Central Time, we were informed snubhub.com (a reseller) had tickets. Paid double the price off the regular ticket. That sucks. All the $19.99 tickets behind the stage are $45-$51. We all need to complain to Xcel and Ticketmaster about resellers getting 100s of tickets to events and doubling the face value price. Just checked and snubhub.com still has a lot of tickets. (Sorry, MF up against the wall!)

We opted for behind the stage 200 level (?!!!) so we can sing and dance and do are thing. As long as we are in the building, its all good. Then again, who knows who much closer we may get the night of the gig!

Looking forward to hanging out with everyone! Maybe some after parties, meet ups and going out to eat.

Since tickets are not going to be available until Oct 6th for mailing and 48 hours ahead of time for E tickets how are they selling them on stubhub? I'm sure they are doing e-tickets but how do they have the tickets already or are they just sending you an order?

Most arenas offer first dibs to their season ticket holders. Vikings STH's had first dibs for the two concerts held there. I'm a season ticket holder in Milwaukee and always get first dibs. It's how it works everywhere.

Wow so how does that work? If that's the case it really sucks.

I'm a hockey fan and know a lot of season ticket holders. You have to buy a PSL (personal seat license) in order to get hockey season tickets. That PSL also gives you first dibs on all or most all other arena events. It's an enticement to get more people to purchase season tickets. It's standard practice in most sports and sports venues but that wouldn't have contributed to the seats selling out so quickly. A very small percentage of PSL holders take advantage of this perk for each event. The real problem is the scalpers who have computer programs and so many other work-arounds to snatch up the tickets. I'm sure there are ways to stop this but I don't think TicketMaster really cares as long as they get theirs. Who knows? Maybe they even get a cut from the re-sellers.

I got section 104 row 17. I started off looking for 3 tickets and only ended up getting one. Hopefully some more will open up.

Not true. I pulled up tickets at noon and later in the afternoon. And I just now pulled up tickets.

If this is true it's a terrible thing. Ticket master needs to fix the problem if it's true that scalpers are somehow able to buy up large numbers of tickets in order to manipulate the system and take advantage of real fans whose only intention is to attend a show thats meaningful to them for whatever reason. I can't believe this is allowed to go on.

.
Unfortunately TM don't see this as being a problem. They don't care who buys the tickets - only that they sell. I don't know what the situation is in the US but in the UK, TM have their own reseller site (getmein) similar to stubhub so they get a cut of the original ticket sale + any resales. There's also been suggestions that some tickets 'find their way' to the reseller sites without ever having been offered to the general public.
.
It's a broken system for fans but working fine for the companies that only care about the $$$s. It needs someone big in the business to wake up/stand up to them but with everyone in each other's pockets (venues, promoters, sellers) I doubt it'll happen anytime soon.

I think Tori Kelly sang with Stevie Wonder at the BET Awards tribute. I had never heard of her before but was really impressed.

I am happy for the fans that are going. We wanted to go, but we refuse to buy from a reseller out of Principle (wanted 4 tix). It's a VERY sad irony that these tickets were handled the way they were. Not fitting for a tribute concert for someone who wholeheartedly believed in fairness and hated this sort of thing. The promoters and the family should have thought about Prince and the way he would have handled this. THey should have specified that the credit card to buy the tickets had to be used for entry (for the group). That way, the fans could have gotten the tickets. Hopefully the concert will be a fitting tribute because they need to make up for the way they did the ticketing. Collectively, the resellers stand to make more than the family, and at the expense of the fans. It's disgraceful.

Yes, disgraceful and corrupt. I can't believe this is the best they can do. Like I said I'm only an occasional concert-goer in large part due to the many times ive also gotten skunked on tickets for an event. Its always such a stressful and overwhelming situation dealing with TM and I've never been so desperate as to use a reseller thank goodness.

I set up a meetup event on FB in case people want to get together. I'm not incredibly active here, but this is here for people to connect if they'd like to. The restaurant is very close to Xcel.

Here to save the day for my fellow org members. I have 6 tickets in section 118 at face value. I believe they came out to $175 per after ticketmaster fees. Hope this helps a few who were left out.

So it looks like the "family" is stepping all over this tribute concert that, like it or not, is billed as the "official" tribute. I'm sure there are a lot of people who purchased tickets that's aren't up to speed on all the politics behind the scenes between the family, Bremer, Londell etc. They're going to see competing events and think WTF? And by saying "there are plans in the works for YOU", that's essentially saying this tribute concert isn't for the fans. What a clusterf**k. whether the family was totally on board with this tribute concert or not they need to suck it up and support it. not doing so it's just going to turn it into an embarrassment which is the last thing Prince needs.

An acquaintance who use to purchase tickets for Gold Coast Tickets in Chicago (another broker reseller) said people buy tickets, then sell them to broker houses for face value, plus commission (10-15%), which is why the tickets are always double face value. People know they're aren't going to a gig, but purchase tickets and resell them for extra money. If you sell that ticket on the street by the venue for more than face value, it's considering scalping and you can be arrested and/or fined in certain cities.

I was super excited to see what other events they had in store. But at this point, the 'cattiness' behind this...makes me want to steer clear of whatever they have planned. That is NOT what Prince would have wanted...a continental dvide like this disbelief

Plus...how much longer are they going to wait before sharing these precious details? It's 3 weeks away for crying out loud.

Exactly. What area they waiting for? And it sure sounds like something thrown together at the last minute almost to spite Londell and everyone else involved in the concert.
