I thought I saw something about 150 and 300 euros for one of the shows. Maybe that wasn't legit. I feel like that's a lot for only a piano and mic. I've seen him like that quite a few times, and it's great, but 300 great? idk. too bad he's coming to europe just as i'm leaving. he probably planned it that way, the jerk. razz

Princevault now has the Scandinavian cities down (Copenhagen, Vejle, Malmö and Oslo). Can't find this anywhere else. Does anybody know the source of this information?

Doing shows like this will require more singing by Prince then in recent tours and he is doing 2 shows a night. I hope his vocals don't become an issue. I'm sure he knows what he is doing. And i havent noticed any back to back dates yet.

Europe is very lucky. Fingers crossed for a US tour(midwest shows please)

you would think after 40 plus years doing this , he knows his limits and what rest he needs between..

You are right, I'm sure he does. I only mention it becuase when he did the 4 shows in Louisville, it was noticable on night 2.

PS.

I hope he does When We're dancing close and slow.

Gutted about Liverpool being canceled. Next best for me is Birmingham.

Maybe he will be able to sort something out in the North at a later date to compensate for the lost Liverpool date? Who knows

I didn't send him a powerpoint presentation on twitter telling him why Manchester is the best for nothing

Great. At least that's cleared up. Keep is all updated on your plans. Thanks.

I like the idea of it. I always enjoy it when an artist can just sat at the piano, play and sing live. You know you're not just dealing with a studio artist.

Nevermind, now the cities are gone again. Guess someone just pulled them out of somewhere dark and moist...

These are gonna sell out quick, despite the *expected* mega-high prices sad

I'm hoping for a close seat, but I've been to Drury Lane in the nosebleeds and you can see, but if you have vertigo, you're really going to suffer!

I think he's going to cheat a bit and have an electronic keyboard of sorts as well, though a pure piano set would be heaven. When he was at Ronnie Scotts (was that really last year?), he sat at the keys the whole night (2nd show), it was amazing to see him throwdown, extremely playful and very happy.

I'm buzzing, this is gunna be IT!!

Funkenberry believes the shows are gonna be half solo and half band. It makes sense since Prince has been prepping this new band and because of the famous "Have you got your passport ready?" comment to Mononeon a couple of weeks ago.

But is he purely speculating or does he have inside intel? He's normally very well informed..: https://twitter.com/drfunkenberry

Edit: I guess the kind of seated venues aren't very suitable for a full band funk fest which weighs against it. And I guess the band could still come along for some impromptu late night shows.

I was thinking that too. Kinda strange that the whole solo piano thing seems to be abandoned before it even got started. Oh well, it IS Prince we're talking about. But...as great as he is on piano, I was wondering how long a solo concert would stay interesting. But if there's going to be two shows per night, there's not much room for aftershows. But then again, you never know...

According to Drfunkenberry, the new band (Kirk, Mono, Donna) will be on the tour with Prince doing a 50/50 set.

Apparently there are a couple for the British shows:

Edit: Or maybe gigsandtours.com are just gonna be referring to Ticketmaster tomorrow... Probably.

Seetickets also,

Some of the Venues have their own ticket sites too, Birmingham does so some will go on sale through there.

Do not be amazed if it is like that.

Do try to get a refund if there is no acoustic piano as the news suggests it so.
