For the first show they were checking photo ID at first, and then when they realised it was taking too long to get people through they just stopped.

It's a good idea, but if you haven't got the resources it doesn't work.

...I'm also over the "oh hannah you're so great" , "hannah you're beautiful", "Hannah you're the best" tweets.

We get it, she'll retweet anything and seems a pleasant girl...but she's not your friend, she won't remember you and she won't fuck you. Yes...this is primarily aimed at 1 person who REPEATEDLY does it and thinks they are a star themselves ...but it seems very catching amongst the masses.

Just read the forum rules so I'll not attack you personally. My point is that there are many people on forums who are lazy, selfish and downright ungrateful 'fools'.

I am no apologist for Jay, he is sometimes over excitable, prone to going a wee bit mental at the front and occasionally screaming like an excitable One Direction fan.....but that's it, I ran out of criticisms.

'Certain people' have: not spent 12 hours queuing (24 hours for the 1st ticketless Q in Manchester in Feb), not made time to befriend security, not stood there and numbered the fans for hours on end for no pay, attempted as best he could to make sure that those waiting for 12 hours did get to the front of the barrier as opposed to 'idiots' turning up 10 minutes before the doors open and queue jumping, done his best to create a decent vibe where the queue looks after itself to let people head off for a pee and a sandwich and folk then letting them back in.....and all of it for no more preferential treatment than a spare drumstick at the end of the show.

So, the self-imposed 'king of the fans' is a pathetic jibe at someone who is actually incredibly humble. Who will make sure that a smaller fan can see when some fat lazy bloke wanders up and barges past her. A man who has never had the temerity to say he is more important than any other fan, a guy who actually created a hugely positive vibe by shaking every hand in the queue.

The keyboard warriors of this world (you know who you are) are on this and other forums desparate for 'info' - well somebody is stood in the pi**ing rain trying their level best to find out that info for the fans. NEVER known him to keep anything back - and if it's wrong it's because some ill-informed security guard misleads him.

So flame me, I couldn't give a sh*t, but the next time you want to know the low down on a gig, albeit with the occasional wrong piece of information, then get your lazy a**e down to the venue and find out. Or u could ask Jay. And he will tell you with all the honesty he can.

"...not stood there and numbered the fans for hours on end for no pay..." - and then pulled his friends into a VIP entrance with the hope of skipping queuing, despite having handed numebering duties over to someone else who then had to take the flack from all the people who saw his select group find their way into a VIP entrance (Manchester Arena).

.

"...incredibly humble..." - despite being on a TV dating show and also turning around pointing at himself to the crowd during Manchester Arena gigs.

.

"...attempted as best he could to make sure that those waiting for 12 hours did get to the front of the barrier as opposed to 'idiots' turning up 10 minutes before the doors open and queue jumping..." - even though, at Manchester Arena, a group of people who knew his friends turned up 20 minuites before doors opening and were given lower numbers so they could be at the front of the queue.

Yeah- I agree. Happy to shove any mates of his in at the front of the queue- not so happy if he doesn't know them.

Frankly, I couldn't really care less what he wants to do with his life (doubtless he'll be a 'super-fan' of something else as soon as this tour finishes) but I'm certainly not going to praise and thank him, or even listen to him really. I don't care who he is, about his appearance on some naff-dating show about 3 years ago (which he insists on talking loudly about all the time, which is frankly, bizaare), or where comes from.

I come to watch a Prince gig- not to massage the ego of some fan that wants to be the star of ths show.

I don't know him personally, I'm sure he may well be perfectly pleasant, but I don't think it's 'ungrateful' to say I'm sick of hearing about him. Not even sure what I'm meant to be grateful for really! it's of no relevance at all to me what time he wants to stand in a queue from!

No point in arguing about it anyway- he's clearly a pal of yours, which is fine, but really the only thing I want to listen to at a Prince show is Prince!

Yes - the very best way of not perpetuating a discussion is not to discuss it further and please stick to the topic.

It's not 100%. Some of the ordering is wrong. The Love We Make was played much earlier, and She's Always In My Hair finished the set.

There was also a snippet of I Would Die For U and an extended instrumental section which may have been 3rd Eye material. That I can remember anyway.

I had a wonderful time, by the way. Both shows, so I got the special wristband. Not been up close for a full throttle hits sets before. (I was at King's Place and a fair few indigo aftershows, but they were different experiences)

I agree PR in set 1 was a bit special. I reckon Prince was being sincere when he gushed about the feeling in the room during that song when he was chatting in Show 2.

I suspect this might be all over for us now. I only pop by when Prince is on town, so thanks to you all for the info here and on twitter. 2014 has been memorable. See you again next time, hopefully it won't be long.

RE show 1

He definitely dropped a few seconds of housequake in the sampler set. Pretty sure just before Hot Thing. SOTT was deff in show 1 too.

There was also that Jam cover of a RATM or Audioslave track.

You utterly missed the point but I've said what I wanted to say and if u deleted - langebleu moderator to go back and read what I said then you'll see its not about him in the slightest in the Q.

Its about Prince's management not looking after those who turn up early and making sure they get the best spot - as is only fair.

Jay (as I keep saying - if you'd only listen) is not perfect and a bit loud mouthed but he tried his best for everybody he met. There are plenty of 'I've been seeing Prince since Parade' types who lord it over newer fans and it is frankly disgusting.

The number of Prince virgins I met this year has been amazing - Jay was one of them. And they are the ones who will continue to buy tickets as they get infected by the experience of seeing Prince live - something we all went through at various times. All this boll**ks about him becoming a super fan is just 'what-abouttery'. He is a pal but I'm old enough and wise enought to see through peoples intentions and all he cares about is the music and making sure there is a good atmosphere.

You don't have to be grateful, none of us do but if someone can do a bit of work to prevent the kind of scrum that happened outside EB or RS then I'm all for it.

I was up top on the first gig, and gave up my seat to stand behind them with a cool fan I met. It also meant I could pop to the bar easily. I didn't want to drink too much as I knew I was going down the front for the second show and I didn't want to be holding the bladder once Prince mentioned Something in the Water!

Track is actually called 'The Unexpected'. Prince's cover of track 2 from Liv Warfield's album of the same name. If you don't have this album you're seriously missing out.
