According to Rolling Stone Germany there won´t be a concert. It´s been cancelled due to "production difficulties", whatever that means.

I still haven´t bought a ticket because I don´t feel like going there alone, and I have to be back the same night but I guess at least I don´t have to worry about this concert any longer.

Hope he´ll still consider a show in Germany real soon, preferrably in Hamburg.

-

This whole ticket debacle is a hot mess.

Hamburg would be great.

He hasn't been here since 2002 ("One Nite Alone - Tour).

There are lots of clubs at the Reeperbahn Disctrict around St. Pauli.

It would be no problem to do a spontaneous show there anytime.

One Nite Alone in Hamburg 2002 was great. One of my favorite ONA concerts.

What a disaster overall sad

In that announcement on the Dirk Becker site it also says "Prince will come back to Germany for further dates in the near future" (In naher Zukunft wird Prince für weitere LIVE Shows nach Deutschland kommen). Let's just hope that then they will have learned a lesson or two. And I support the suggestion of Hamburg very, very much cool

seriously? initial ticket prices were over 300 Eu. I adore Prince, but I would never pay 300 Eu to see him

What a pity for Berlin sad

But you still can come to Vienna 4 the purple party ! If the vibes will come close to the one in 2010 you won't regret it !!

4 years ago he played Berlin and 17.500 came. But ticket prices back then ranged from €63 to €155.

I bet that the Tempodrom could have been sold out with €63-tickets.

But although the capital city, Berlin is not the richest city. I believe in Hamburg and Munich you could find more people willing to pay for expensive tickets.

Just as i predicted (and i'm not proud or happy about it).

The other thing is, the 2-for-1 promotion wasn't even available through their main site but only through that special (affiliate) link originally posted on Housequake - how stupid is that ?!

Ok, so i have spontaneously contacted all available venues in Hamburg plus the Quasimodo in Berlin and asked them to try to get Prince to play.I'll let you know if/when someone responds.

Here's a good article that chronicles this disaster, and places the blame squarely with Dirk Becker (in Deutsch):

http://www.ticcats.de/blog/entry/ticcats-blog-prince-in-berlin-chronologie-eines-ticketvorverkaufs

I didn't even get back the full cost of my concert tickets, or of my train tickets. Total BS.

A list of maybe 350 concert promoters in Germany. Dirk Becker ist just one of them. Bad choice. Try another. Can't get worse.

At the URL, someone also mentions that they kept "12 Euro Bearbeitungsgebühr". That cannot be legal. I'd use every means to get that back and let everyone know how IMMENSELY they fucked up.

Very good article but with one mistake in it. The 188 € tix became available just a few hours after the regular sales started not the next day.

Especially interesting is this link in it which explains how ticket prices (in Germany only?) are made up http://www.ticcats.de/blo...ammensetzt

Very sorry for you and all how need to fight now to get their money back.

If you read it from a non-fan perspective, do not like someone who hangs around here, i think the Welt-article is understandable.

Not even all the fnas like the way these 'tours'are being organized at the very last minute nowadays. What do you expect from all the other people who would like to see prince (at least) once?

As much as I feel sorry for people who already had made arrangements for Berlin, I am VERY HAPPY that this show is cancelled.

I hope this is an eye-opener for Prince that asking 300 Euro for a show is RIDICULOUS and in NO WAY can be justified, especially in a time where people still suffer the consequences of the unlimited greed of the money-elite.

These prices makes me look at Prince, whom I admire in many ways, as a money wolf who has lost contact with the reality many of his fans face.

Oh man...this shit is already all over the german news, I guess after this recent stunt and the total disaster that was Cologne '11, we won't be seeing another Prince concert in Germany for a long, long time...

This is quite a long thread for a concert that never happened. lol 7 pages and counting.

The last time Prince played in Germany we had a long thread, too.....after the Cologne fiasco. confused

If I were Prince I´d never play at the Lanxess Arena again, and stay away as far as possible from Dirk Becker Entertainment.

Prince used to love playing in Germany back in the days, and I really liked the 2010 concert in Berlin.

But it seems that DB Entertainment kind of jinxed it for him.
