Agreed (not that i was on stage, sadly). The crowd was definitely less full of casuals and drunken oafs. Both incredible though, serious case of the blues this week.

I was at both nights too, Friday was special as it was my first time i'v seen him live, I was just in awe, but Saturday totally blew me away but I was on the balcony and didn't have to deal with the drunks.

What a great first gig to start with! I remember wishing I was on the balcony on Saturday.

I was number 16, anyone from here near the front with me? I met some great people on Saturday but forgot to ask them whether they were orgers.

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

Hi dandan. I was 11. Though with all the good-naturedness of it all, probably got in 30th! Still 4 rows back in the gig though. I was tall Paul - greyish-haired with a black jacket and bloodshot eyes. Passed the choccy biccies down. Describe yourself.

I remember the biscuits, they kept me going lol I was the young lad, 18, had a leather jacket on and a hat for most of the day smile I think you might be the man who was really nice to me all day. Did you have a bit of an altercation with a scottish guy who was queue jumping just before doors opened?

I didnt like how the security made is all bunch up together from 5pm which was ridiculous cuz b4 that, we all had some personal space ( & I'm all for that!) after people got squeezed together like cattle, that's when the temperatures started to raise & folk started pushing. I was holding onto the barrier facing onto the street just taking deep, calm breaths to stop the panicking feeling, & the sick feeling too. But the barrier was nearly going to get toppled over as so many pushed forward. Yuk, that part was horrid.

I think the guy who shouted was annoyed cuz he'd stood there since 9am & a couple just turned up to the line who hadn't been there all day, & also with those 2 eccentric looking boys who pissed off for about 4 hours to go home & have a "bit of a nap" I overheard. lol I don't mind if people needed to go away, or were even keeping a space for a mate who couldn't possibly get there early, but for Goodness sakes have some queue etiquette & communicate with other around u in the queue. I'm sure if the 2 boys had said 'hey, we need to go for a bit but we'll b back mate" then that guy wouldn't have unleashed his frustrations. It's all about Communication folks!!! Ha ha

When the doors opened it was carnage. The just let us all surge forward at once instead of letting say 10 through at a time. Ended up folk way behind me in the queue ran & were trying to push past to get in the door first! It was ridiculous! falloff Then the way the ticket checks went, the bag searches etc, everybody lost their place in the numbered queue & just went for it. The actually venue had about 20 security guards dotted over the dance floor trying to stop people running. Shame I was prob only one of the folks that listened cuz then loads surged passed me. Ahhh, the beast that is the concert goer! Ha ha

CHASINGAMY - a rare and unexpected post! How's it going? What a night eh? And what a spot. I'm glad loads of people here are saying it was one of those special nights and people who've seen more shows than me. I really felt it on a Saturday - but my mate who only went on Friday and it was his time seeing P (he's also a mean guitarist and in a band that's supported the orb an pwei so I trust his word) says it's the best gig he has ever been to.

I know I shoulda been feelin Friday more but think I was flagging half through probbo cos I had no tea, so armed with a barm and mars bars I made sure I camelled up on Saturday, maybe it was the position I was in (ahem) or the queuing or the company but Defoe for me Saturday were the night.

…so. To Wednesday. Anyone else anywhere near recovered yet? I may go out of the house today…

Chasingamy - the wife is calling you my new boyfriend! Just don't tell the old one!

 That sounds pretty much like what happened at the EB 3 weeks ago, however what you describe there seems even more chaotic. Would I have it any other way? Probably not, loved every minute of it...wink)

I was number 56 in ticket queue.
After many a gig I don't trust security to handle stuff well so I run because I've being good before after waiting all day it's gets you nowhere. I went to the girl scanning tickets fast.

The fairest way I ever saw at a venue was tickets scanned and bags checked of first 20 people before doors open. Then they made front row which was only just and fair.

Mmm - not sure that's me. I did asked someone's wife to go to the back but was friendly after her husband explained that he'd queued there all day on behalf of her and now he was going to go to the back. You weren't the chap who read alot and who'd been to King's Hall were you?

I'm glad I didn't witness any pushing and shoving - I'm sorry to hear about that.

yeah, I wasnt sure whether to leave the line or not regarding the KRO bar, I just played it on the safe side and kept my place.

I have a nasty cold though now, seen as I only went out in a thin cardigan. Worth it though! It was sweaty as hell in that concert hall! When everybody walked out into the street it was so nice to get the cold air on you!
