Are you talking about the Dakota shows? I don't think we really knew what we would be getting or even had time to think about which show we wanted to go to, but the pricing kind of let everyone know which show would be the best. All 6 shows were sold out within the hour and I know some die hards who didn't even hear about it until the shows were sold out.

I love all sides of Prince but if I had to choose I want to hear him light up his guitar although The Hit And Run/Parade Tour was one of my faves. It's all good! Just no sampler set! I guess that's why I've been an avid fan since the early 80's. So many sides to his musical genius.

You do realize a show ending at 6am isn't everyone idea of "insane" in a good way, right?

You also realize that most people see one Prince show, and decide it's legendary.

The people I know who got in don't even own Prince records. Not even the classics.

They'll tell you it was historical.

....love the Parade tour, love when Prince plays guitar, but surely the '86 tour was the first time P spent more time as band leader than musician?

That's probably only the Prince part of the event...of which we got 79 legendary insane seconds via 3EG youtube channel.

Just want to explain to 'SometimesIwonder'. The pics were several pics of the band members (npg) who performed at CW on Wed/Thurs, and the images came from a site which had those images on there, including about 2 or 3 pics of P, when I posted that article here out of good graces, not bad intentions. Anyway, when I saw the message that his images were removed from my post, because they were unauthorized, I thought it was best to ask one of the mods to remove the rest of the pics of the npg band members, and the article from my post altogether, to avoid any purple drama from the purple campers. No biggy, it's all good.

Gawker or one of those sites had second hand reports describing the show ending at 6am with the sun coming up. He went on after 2:30am. Prince wasn't on stage for 5 hours. Anyone claiming that might as well be writing fan fiction.

Yes, but I don't really consider what he was doing on the Parade tour the same as what he does now with the full current NPG. I mean, the focus was still on Prince back then. I've only saw one show with the full current NPG and it was the rehearsal at Paisley Park. Too many covers, too many horn players, and not enough Prince. It was only 10 bucks, so I can't complain and I did have a good time still.

A friend who was at the recent Denmark concert that was outstanding but this one indescribable and she couldn't believe she was able to witness one the best concerts of her life!

I'm not sure who is reporting on duration of the concert but I was there, exhausted and spent, for every moment and I the concert was over @ about 5:25-35am.

What I am saying for the splurge (my summer vcation although I don't have to justify anything to anyone I choose to) to attend this incredible setting, be in NYC, see beloved friends and meet people from the org, around the country and around the world... and see the best Prince concert I every seen....what is there to complain about? Just called me blessed
