Bennetts bar is absolutely swamped tonite already by this point from ppl hoping "just in case" ive heard...

He wouldn't do it again tonight, too predictable!

...or

Maybe knowing the fact that it would be so predictable, he WOULD do another show tonight, just because he knows that no fans would expect him to be so predictable.

He's a goddam genius.

lol

Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

Just saw a #nitenite tweet from Cassy - she's off to bed.

I'm sure the band want to get plenty of rest before tomorrow - we should all probably do the same.

If anything happens tonight, it will be Prince on his own and I really don't see him doing that.

I was awake! I'm still awake! So very tired. But so very awake. Purple high. Can't come down.

Bennett's Lane is a tiny little jazz club. It was a really cool, very laid back, jazzy, funky gig. I got there just after 1am and the band was already jamming, with the girls taking turns on the mic. Not sure when Prince arrived, but it wasn't long after. Gig ended a few minutes shy of 4am.

He was sitting two seats down from me, in the dark and he called out "Tambourine" to John B, who immediately obliged. Prince didn't sing it - he said he was just "testing John's knowledge of Prince music" wink

Prince did play everything at least once. He had a lot of feedback problems throughout the night. At one stage, he said, "This is what I do for a living. I make feedback." I was standing next to the sound guy and I was scared!

Eventually he got the band grooving and crouched down by the controls himself. A minute later everything was stable and stayed that way until the end of that "set" (not sure you could call them encores).

I hope someone with a better memory can put together a setlist (you can definitely put IIWYG, Strange Relationship and Something In The Water in there). So sorry guys but I was just lost in the music. So. Much. Fun.

I might try and sleep now. Will try to remember more coherently in the morning.

you are famous: you are quoted here:

“At one stage he said 'This is what I do for a living, I make feedback',” one Prince fan said on a fan forum this morning.

Oh my heart goes out to those that missed out. I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL (sorry for the caps - it is me still crying.....) I missed out on the Eatons Hills Bris one - due to not knowing how to find the club, no referdex or GPS - but still crying I did not at least try to find it - just needed to find a dirction to point the car (I am from the Gold Coast not Bris local).

Unbelievable I got to see the two Brisbane Shows - but still stabbing pins in my own eyes after not going to the aftershow.

I know how those of you that missed out on Bennets feel.

I wish I had another opportunity.......at least you guys have hope for tonight.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

Not sure if anyone has posted this link already

http://www.thevine.com.au...ve-review/

but i found the below quote quite memorable.

"Holy ****, that was, by a country mile, the best musical experience of my life”.

"The next two and a quarter hours of my life taught me a lot about what funk really was. In that, prior to this, I don’t think I had any idea what funk really was"

This poor bloke is now ruined !! Hooked and addicted.

His just walked out of his first Prince aftershow. He will spend the next 20-30+ years chasing more and more club gigs, searching the world for people who will give him copies of Prince's other club gigs on LP, CD, DVD to satisfy his new addiciton, he will search the internet for more club gigs he can download during the early hours of the morning cuz his ISP gives him extra gig of download data......

oh no, is this what have i (we) just been doing for the last 20+ years ???
