It's 3pm on Monday 23rd and I just bought tickets direct with no problem.

Sod the train, I'm driving from near Stamford. It's gonna be quiet on the roads afterwards for a change.

Let's hope someone like Jamie Lidell decides/is invited to come and play cool

Bit old for festivals, but think I may wear a smoking jacket and cravat just to counteract the sheep shiza !

We're all getting too old too soon these days. I don't know anyone over 25 who is ever willing to camp at a festival. Apart from one girl I work with who is 25 and still goes on holiday and stays in hostels.

Fuck that - I'm nearly 30, earn my own money and have no dependants. If I'm going anywhere I need a bed, my own shower and electricity. Preferably free wireless internet too.

I'm 40 and I had a brilliant time at my first ever Glastonbury last year. I don't know why so many feel its a chore. Sure I didn't sleep very well in a tent, I just partied most of the night instead.

Usually, I'm Mr 5* hotels only, but slumming it was a good laugh!

Seems like 30 is the new 40. I'm over my midlife worries! biggrin

Thanks ecstasy, it is fun, I think its also that its his first real festival here in the UK, so lets hope it all goes ahead! The other exciting thing for me is that it's only 30 minutes from where I live.

Have you been to any of the 21 Night shows?

"so lets hope it all goes ahead!"

Isnt it funny with a Prince concert, even with a ticket in hand you are still not actually expecting to see him until he has walked on stage. I think with the fallout with the Croke Park aftermath etc, he will do this one. But hey we all know...lighting can certainly strike in the same place twice.

Yes it is! But I don't want to tempt fate on this one, its a cool idea to play a festival and its so close to where I am its exciting.

Got tickets for my sister and I after some deliberation. Not sure how I feel about seeing him at a big festival. Bit spoiled after all the 21 nights aftershows but I figured it'll be a nice, hits filled warm up before North Sea Jazz. And a weekend in/around London is always a good laugh.

Still hope more UK dates are on the way too and they announce the other acts soon.

I hope everyone who goes has fun (if he turns up), but the only time I've seen Prince somewhere where you don't get a reserved seat, which was Wembley Stadium, I really didn't think much of it at all. Wembley Arena, The fantastic O2, Earls Court, Hammersmith were all great and you didn't have to fight for a good view!

Veej said: The coach return ticket is cheap but im afraid theres gonna be traffic going up there and what if Prince is still performing after 11:30? In Arras i think he didn't get off until midnight or quarter to 12 if i can remember, someone can clarify me on this, but i know it was late. I was thinking more catching the train from Victoria station....but can't think what to do afterwards yet! If the curfew at hop farm is 11pm then the coach will be great for the return back to London.

I wonder if it's an option to get a taxi back? Do you think would be more than £25-30 if there were a few sharing? OMG Cat. I RAN from Arras to the train station, I thought I was going to die, my life literally flashed before my eyes and I nearly gave up running saying to my friends really dramatically 'just leave me, save yourselves' before arriving at the train station and standing on the train for an age waiting for everyone to get there. What a loser I am! LOL!

LOL...Arras was hard work! I remember we pushed our way near the front and we was so hot and squashed and with all the waiting I felt ill, I was getting more and more dizzy i could feel my legs trembling from under me and kept looking up int the sky for air, I turned to Pepper7 saying I dont think I'm gonna make it I think im gonna faint, the horror on her face falloff but then Larry came on stage and everyone pushed forward I suddenly felt ok.

We missed quite a few trains back and had to stay in Lille for the night, Lille was nice.

I vowed I will never see Prince in a place like that again, seated only...I must be off my rocker or just plain gullible to be doing this again, but here we are lol

Sharing a taxi home is a good idea.

I agree, I saw him 1992 at Wembley Stadium but all I mostly could see was the back of people's heads. The only way I could see the stage was to jump.

And we had been standing for 8 hours!

I've seen other bands at similar gigs nearer the front and it IS a fight as you think you've got a good view between 2 people's heads then someone taller steps infront of you and you're desperately trying to see the stage again!

Wembley stadium was my first Prince gig and my last standing in a stadium gig. The worst thing about it was the 8 hours of Thunder and the Coca Cola advert playing on a loop! That day killed Thunder for me lol.

I'm going to Hop Farm though, how can I not?

RIP sad

Anyone I've ever talked to who went to see Prince at Wembley Stadium has always had negative things to say about it. Maybe it was just a particularly bad concert.

My first 3 concerts ever were all at Wembley Stadium and I really enjoyed them all. I haven't been back since though, and not since it was rebuilt.
