11-13 August - Way Out West Festival, Gothenburg, Sweden

I haven't seen anybody discussing this yet,

but is Prince doing three nights in Gothenborg, Sweden?

Looking at the site, I guess the exact programme hasn't published yet and he's doing only 1 concert.

Can anybody confirm?

Have a look at 'The W2A: Euro Tour Song Survey' http://prince.org/msg/12/362417

I just saw there are still GC tickets for Luxemburg ... thought that would be sold out pretty soon, but seems not so.

This tour is commercial suicide for some promoters.

Stade de France, Ahoy, Gent and Cologne? It is all within 5 driving hours and the tickets are more expensive than Tina Turner in some places. If he was only playing smaller venues.

May not sound like it, but I am looking forward to Cologne although the show isn't selling that well at the moment.

Ahoy is not that big and (like Cologne) a venue with a roof.

Prince needs it esp since we will not have a very big production touring this summer

Berlin date no longer on eventim.de

Perfect.

But with those ticket prices he can go F himself anyway.

I think you're a bit wrong. Only a very few percent of the concert visitors is willing to drive more then an hour for a concert. So it shouldn't be a problem for ticket sales if there's a show in Gent, Rotterdam, Köln, Paris and Luxembourg.

Secondly, the Gent show is sold out, the 4th Rotterdam show is sold for 75% tot 80%. That's not bad at all. I cannot see how the Paris show and the Luxembourg show are being sold. The Köln sales are going bad I can see, not even halfly sold out. I have to admit, Stade de France was a very bad venue choise in my opinion. Too big, bad acoustic probably.

Stade de France is indeed a bad choice. But Cologne is good choice, there are few secections sold out (view seatingtickets) But there wasn't much promotion for the Cologne concert , so nobody actually knows the ticketsale start already. But I think it will sell out or at least for 75 % ..

It is still possible to buy regular tickets for the Ghent show, so maybe it is not sold out yet. Anyway. The fans living within a 5 hour radius of the above mentioned shows won't travel to al of them. They'll chose which one to go to. And if I had the choice I would rather go to Rotterdam than Cologne. Just look at the ticket prices. If the Cologne show will be anything close to sold out I'll eat my words of course. Prince doesn't have the amount of casual fans anymore. And even if he had they hardly know about the concerts due to the lack of promotion.

Well, it's not my problem. Have a lovely sunday everyone.

xenophobia2002

have to agree with Aprilsnow on this subject ... and as a matter of fact, Prince should have sticked with the North Sea Jazz concerts only.

These 3 shows alone, would have given him a lot of credibility all around Europe (and his fans).

After that, the best thing to do was to announce a 2012 European Spring Tour ......

I AM LOOKING FOR USED PRINCE CONCERT TICKETS ... https://www.facebook.com/...erttickets

Rumoured date for on the list: Belgian sales company opened a waiting list for an unconfirmed second Gent date without mentioning when this date might be:
http://www.sherpa.be/www4...anguage=NL

(and Cologne and Berlin are not uncorfimed anymore right?)

Cologne is official. Berlin is not on 4 august, so far... but I think there will be a concert in Berlin but maybe another date, or maybe they announced it too early.

Looking at the dates so far, I would say just a few extra concerts might be announced, if Sweden is the last gig in Europe this summer.
