Just got back to Sacramento from the show. And it was great biggrin The highlight of the show for me was Controversy headbang Being that it was the first Prince song i have ever heard it was great to finally hear it live.

The is the first time i see a show since 1997 at Jones Beach, Long Island. Of course i was wearing the t-shirt from that show LOL!! Glad there was a lot of time in between cause it keeps me from becoming jaded or ho hum towards his shows like it seems to do for some folks.

Anyways thumbs up to the show.

Wow! What a concert. I can't decide if Monday's show was better or tonight's; let's just say both shows were great. The crowd tonight was non-stop and uber-loud. People danced all night long, again.

Prince started the show with Let's Go Crazy (thank you) and we did! The words so true and so on-time. I absolutely loved Somewhere Here on Earth, and I swear, the sinceriy of I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore brought tears. The Nasty Girl, Darling Nikki medley was smouldering hot; the Prince tease with his signature moves...made the women in our secton squeal with joy...so much fun in one evening.

Sheila's white dress was--as one friend put it; poured on..I say, exquisite as one mo' time she killed the drums.

Again, Larry Graham and Graham Central Station brought the funk, put it in a box and tied it with a nice red ribbon. It was really cute when Tina Graham got on stage and played with Larry for a few.

The band and Shelby J just do not miss a beat, true professionals who obviously love what they do. I loved Renato's coat. Tonight as I watched the band and singers, I wondered how they keep up with Prince? Its poetry in motion and Its a family affair. Its nice that way.

We had a great time. And, yes...there's always tomorrow....lol

I was gonna post a review but you took the words right out of my mouth! A simply amazing show, even better than Monday. Plus, they adjusted the sound system and the vocals were just right! Couldn't ask for better than the Prince concert tonight...and that last encore! wink

Oh it was just great. Even Larry gets mad props from me. BTW - that's where the special guest for the night was. Greg Errico, original drummer for Sly and the Family Stone, came in and took over on the drums for the last couple songs in Larry's set. Anyway, GCS' set was cool. Larry did this awesome bit where it was just him and the drummer and he wailed on that bass and made sounds come out of it that could make Joan River's blush.

I know he is not popular around here and I am not particularly a fan of his music (I don't even like "Hair"!), but the band was tight and sounded great.

Other Highlights -

* The whole arena apparently knew the lyrics to "One In A Million You" except for me. LOL. Not sorry.

* Morris' odd positioning. I was right behind Morris (which was also a good indicator of encores cuz Morris did NOT get up offa that thang until the 2nd encore was over) and it was just cool to watch him play. I wanted badly to get his attention but he was preoccupied with some drunk skank and a brother who was hanging out with him the whole time.

* "Somewhere Here On Earth" and "I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore"... Not much into the slow jams (nor SHOE) but these were really fantastic. ILUBIDTUA had almost an "Insatiable" type vibe to it in this arrangement.

* Prince is LOVING his new hip because he can take that thang out and do whatever he wants with it now. He was booty popping, crawling on the piano, and generally running around everywhere.

* Prince's guitar playing on "Little Red Corvette", "Controversy", and "Purple Rain" were flawless.

* Shelby was waving around some flag during "Purple Rain" but I couldn't make out if it was like... something interesting or a MasterCard logo.

* Liv's voice is phenomenal. Why is Shelby still here? Elisa was cool, but I think she's a lil thick for wearing one of those tutu skirts with her titties spilling out. She did look like the coolest grandma on the stage next to Cynthia Robinson though!

* Prince asked, rather early in the show, if we were all coming back tomorrow. He said, "Well ya'll REALLY need to come back tomorrow if you liked tonight cuz -" and then he just started stumbling back and waving his arms like it stunk, lol. He was shouting "OH lawd!" from just far enough away from the mic to hear him (kind of like when he does "Slow down!" on LRC).

[Edited 2/24/11 0:36am]

Prince does not have a new hip stop spreading false rumors.U have a serious problem and need mental counseling....That was TOTALLY UNNECCESSARY..

Many fans that are jaded or ho hum with his shows usually do not attend the shows. They just comment on the setlist, and then eventually listen to the bootleg(non-soundboard) to make their judgements.

There's more than that which makes up a live concert experience.

Prince is a musician not a lifestyle.

Nice report. I agree with you about Shelby J's singing, as well as Liv and Elisa, and I'm glad Prince still has them as backup singers. Shelby always does a great job, and has a very powerful voice, and you have to witness it to appreciate it, especially when she does a solo number, and a duet with Prince. Prince and Shelby's duet of "Nothing Compares 2 U" was well-received at MSG. She has a fantastic voice and I can see why Prince keeps her in his band.

See....it doesn't matter if he plays his old faves all the time! He still rocks them live, right! (I don't dig Shelby either. The audio of her from Monday's show was baaaaad and not in a good way.)

Good show. Had my seats upgraded!! Win.

Shelia E was the highlight for me. I've seen P bunches of times, but I haven't seen Shelia playing anywhere near Prince since the Purple Rain tour. She was on fire, alough it was kind of lame that the crew started to lower her under the stage before Glamorous Life ended, and then had to raise her back up. Somebody screwed up that cue.

prince

And I ran into some Orgers while I was there. Score.

soooo Sweet! Love all the reviews...my turn tonight. Yes, he has tossed a guitar to a fan before..sorry can't remember where..but it was priceless. didn't he ask for it back?? LA maybe. Fillmore he handed down his bass to the crowd....we all passed that around and back to him.Remebmer Rainbow Children the chat with him in Oakland Arena when a fan asked to play his guitar? Then another went to his car to get his and came back and jamed with the band. LOL! hey, they were good.

good times , lots of memories!!

So, my friend bought tickets for four of us, the cheap seats - $50 tix/sec. 224 directly "behind" the stage, upper level. When we showed up, they had that section and few others curtained off and we were directed to a table where they exhcanged our seats for some on the lower level- Section 124 - still not best in the house but a huge upgrade from our original seats. No complaints from my crew. And we ended up two rows behind orgers I haven't seen since Prince's opening week at Club 3121 in Vegas. That was cool.

Also, while we were hanging out at a bar upstairs pre-show, I saw a guy walking around and randomly handing out upgrade tickets. He looked like an arena management type - button down collar, clip board, white guy, male pattern baldness. Keep an eye out for someone that fits that discription.
