I am on a purple high and its not even the fourth day of November!

Its been too long for me (Gansevoort NYC October 2008) to see the only artisit that meant any and everything to me for the past 31 years I have suported him.

Have to admit the past week and especially yesterday were so stressful (Lord, do I miss the old NPG Club) to many of us but today for me I struck gold. With some conern about view I still had to have me some VIP Table seats, I was on stage with P in the Nassau Coliseum in 2004 (one of my lifetime highlights no doubt) for nearly 20 mins and once again I need to be close. Additionally the high table with two seats and "intimate setting" intrigued me to no end.

So like that song most of us don't want to hear as an opener LOL...I'm just sayin...I went Crazy... and took advantage of three seperate Purple Circle VIP opportunities. It was a miracle just getting one but three came about on differnt attempts.

On 12/14 IZOD Opener section 1 row or table 3.

12/18 MSG section 3 row/table 5.

12/29 MSG section 3 row/table 6.

12/15 IZOD got section 9 row 5 from pre-sale, look like decent seats from behind.

Alot of coin but for me well worth it! Struggled with this whole process, access and then of course the $$$ insane (probably I am) yes and I'll cut-back somewhere per$onally but America, America God shed his grace on me!!!! I will indeed bring the foot spray and as always enjoy the funk!

For those of you wondering about your MSG tickets and what the view will be like:

Here is a link to the MSG seating chart that you can click on the section your tickets are in and see a photograph of the view to the stage.

http://www.thegarden.com/...index.html

Of course, these photographs are set up with the stage at the far end of the floor (sections 10, 11, 12, 13 on the prince map), but if you imagine the prince stage being where the center two sections of the chairs on the floor are, you can get an idea about what your view will be like.

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I think there are still some single seats here and there. Probably hard to find 2 together now.

lol actually, i just checked hotels.com.

the new yorker has had a refurb since i went & must reflect in the price. it's not that cheap! perhaps something to do with time of year (flight prices hiked too) but still good value imo..

the hotel does have a lot of character, it's art deco, got some history.

i've stayed all around nyc & remember having so much fun on that occasion biggrin

i'd come along if i could afford. shit i'm so tempted!

[Edited 10/29/10 5:05am]

It's because of the holiday season that the prices are hiked, and will be like that until the end of December, starting in November. Check the thread I made in this forum (Concerts forum) regarding hotel information/availbility in the NY/NJ area.

ahhh.. that explains it, thought so. not very considerate of prince .. lol but then what a fantastic time of year to be in nyc!

i just saw your thread, lots of fab info. it is good of u to make such effort.

Opinions please. I have 2 sets of tickets for 1 of the dates at the Garden. 1 pair is in section 336, row C & the other is in section 229, Row A. Each pair cost me $229.50 after fees and 1 pair is going to be a present for someone. Which pair do you think is better? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Plus I am hoping for at least 1 aftershow. I have the entire week of the 27-31 off so I can be out all night any night if necessary! dancing jig

Has there been any talk of aftershows 2 any of these gigs @ IZOD or MSG? Probably better suited 4 the MSG shows logistically as it would b easier 2 find a venue. Initial thoughs after the press conference were 4 shows actually at The Apollo hmmm

There sure r several evenings between 12/18 & 12/29 MSG shows 4 some "hit and run" jams at local venues in Manhattan beg

got Prince?

I was chcecking Ticketmaster for a friend and it's official MSG on December 18th is SOLD OUT. Even single ticket searches for best available seats turn up nothing. There are still some seats for the 29th available but they're single seats (you might go as a couple but you won't be during the show).

As for IZOD Center there were some pairs popping up for the 14th in the 100's section. This may be the best bet for anyone looking to go with otheres now. I have a ticket for the 14th and there's an express bus to the arena out of Port Authority ($10 round trip). It should be quite the party bus since we're all on it for the same reason!

Good luck finding tickets!

Section 229 is lower and therefore closer to the stage. since he's playing in the round they are better seats. Whereas 336 is the next level up and automatically furthe from the stage. Which to give as a gift is best based on who wants to see him more. Whoever does deserves 229 and the more casual attendee shopuld get 336.

The thing is- since you paid for them, the fact that he or she is getting them at all is a nice thing.

Don't feel guilty because you may want to treat yourself with the better seats. smile

So i got tickets via the presale for Friday at Izod and Sat at MSG. The ALIST presale code worked the best seating wise.

I am in the 100s for the best view near the round end of the stage at Izod

Sat im in the 69 section at MSG

I am having tickets mailed to me since will call wasnt an option.

I would suggest checking Craigslist New York or Stub Hub for tickets also even though they are marked up

Did anyone order the t shirt and did they give you a size option?

As far as Janelle Monae being on the bill i looked at her tour dates and she is on tour overseas so I guess she in on the last MSG date

Actually standard mail shipping was free, hard tickets should be arriving in 10 to 14 days.

Anybody buying pdf tickets from someone on line should be weary cause whose to say there aren't selling that's same pdf tickets to someone else. Onces its scanned you can't use it again to get in the venue.

I didn't do standard mail because I had tix not a couple of months ago.

I thought I had accidentally threw them away, but they hadn't been sent. I was in a PANIC!

So I decided I needed to print them myself so I could have them in my hands.
