No, only 2many fans wich woult buy tickets! It was sold out in les than 2-3 Minutes....[/quote] But still, I'd like to reference Matthew 6:24: "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money." Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... Not if it sells out. Look at the prices people pay for Sports (Tennis, Soccer etc) If people are willing to pay.. why charge less? If anyones mentally deranged it's the ones who's buying the tickets... --- Where am I? ---

It's a question of supply and demand. He gradually appears to be grabbing the concept, although using it in perhaps not the most proper way. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Shall we take these "news" as something really *SERIOUS* ? ...
I see a lot of people are taking the info for granted. Personally don't know the source of said info (a French fan web site, I heard?), but it wouldn't be the first time a concert announcement turns out to be fake ... or never reach the "official" status (even though there might have been negotiations and so on). Said this, I really hope it all turns alright for those who really plan on making it there. But until something pops up @ lotusflow3r.com I'd take this with a BIG grain of salt.

You might be right here! My guess is that it's still going on and will be officialy announced on July 4th - 14 days before the show, like last time in 2007! . [Edited 6/24/09 10:13am] "ohYeeeeeah" said: I'm a massive Bowie fan. Even on Scary Monsters, I always skip Fame ...

But what a great line-up they have this year: Chaka Khan, George Benson, Kool And The Gang, B.B. King, Ray Parker Jr, Grace Jones and Alice Cooper Jesus! [Edited 6/24/09 10:19am] "ohYeeeeeah" said: I'm a massive Bowie fan. Even on Scary Monsters, I always skip Fame ...

It's surely a fake news, the price regarding the first show can be true, it's not the first time that we see price like this for an artist in Montreux, but regarding the two other location, it seems impossible,
The Jazz café was never used for a paid live show and I would be surprise that they change it, the location is great for an after show without seat (it's more a café than a concert hall), they programmed 2 or 3 years ago CHic(it was great) and it was free with a rap session from Kid Rock on Rappers Delight. Regarding the piano session in the palace, forget it! to do an elevator music session for 40 person sipping cocktails it's maybe ok... but 250 person in it would be like a normal elevator filled with 40 person. I do believe in the show in Montreux, but I believe that with their experiences in organizing some amazing show they will organize something of quality and respect for the public he will do is show(s) all in the stravinski hall cause it's the best one regarding audio quality, And we will surely have a gratis after show like in 2007 at 4am in the jazz caffe then see you there. Anyway, if the price is 700. - Euro, you’d better take the pass for the two weeks for all the montreux festival which is at 1500. - Swiss francs (1000. - euro)

maybe olny 1 concert according to Montreux organister Claude Nobs.
Nothing has been signed yet : "We spoke for some time about Prince to come at the Montreux Jazz Festival on July 18 for three concerts the same evening. It should make just one in an original ambience In 2007, Prince had caused a sensation at Montreux Jazz Festival. According to fan sites, rumor had continued to swell last month. The organizers of the Montreux Jazz Festival had to be confirmed in discussions with the management of the Prince to host the July 18 after a surprise shift observed in 2007. Interviewed today by Patrick Ferla's show "Almost nothing about almost everything," Claude Nobs explained the history of the negotiations still ongoing, "Prince asked me if he could come in Montreux this year to play three concerts a row with three bands in three different rooms. As I do not say no - I was even nicknamed 'Nothing is Impossible Claude Nobs' - I said we'll see. It began to look with all the staff and we saw that it was possible but for a sizable budget. And then it dragged. The first negotiations date in April. Then the contract has been sent. Prince said 'yes, but I do not want television. Then, 'yes but I want 35mm cameras', which is financially impossible, given that the budget of the Rolling Stones concert in New York filmed by Scorsese was 20 million dollars for a single concert while there he wanted three. I finally managed to convince him that the HD was sufficient. " But as with a star is never safe from a change in the last minute, Prince changed his mind earlier this week. "He told me he wanted to do a single concert and another concept. He sent me a video of the Ellen DeGeneres show, where it is in an environment of a "cuisine de campagne" and he does his show there, "said Claude Nobs. As for the skipper of the Montreux Jazz this poses no problem "making a cuisine de campagne in Montreux," a new budget and a new contract have been made and sent to Prince and his management. Claude Nobs explained at the time of the interview waiting for a response for the weekend. But it was not counting the death of Michael Jackson who has greatly shaken the world and particularly the United States Thanks to zannalee for translating I AM LOOKING FOR USED PRINCE CONCERT TICKETS ... https://www.facebook.com/...erttickets

Is he a musician or a cook?
Is it about the music or the scenery? Was this the man who once did the 'nude' concept? He appears to have lost much of his grasp with the real world, the fans: Why does he have to drag this on so late? We want to plan ahead, arrange stuff, etc, just like other people. As it has already been posted on the org, Prince will be at the Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland in 2 weeks:
http://prince.org/msg/7/3...sg_6750182 from: http://www.drfunkenberry....-festival/ Plus more details about it: http://prince.org/msg/7/3...sg_6750578 from: http://www.drfunkenberry....-montreux/ In a nutshell: Prince Will Be Performing 2 Shows At The Montreux Jazz Festival Playing with Prince at the legendary festival will be Rhonda Smith, Renato Neto, and John Blackwell. Prince has rehearsed the 3 players: John Blackwell, Rhonda Smith and Renato Neto for 2 weeks now and taught them new and old material alike as well as a few covers. Prince is using a smaller crew these days to allow space for the audience to properly hear his favorite players right now. We are being told that Prince will, of course be featured on guitar throughout the concert but mainly this year his goal is to showcase his sometimes overlooked vocal abilities. Prince feels he is improving as a vocalist and has taken the time to re-work arrangements to showcase his gift. Some tunes will just feature Renato on piano and Prince on vocals. Prince has also been listening alot to new jazz star Esperanza Spalding. In addition to Esperanza, Prince is a big fan of Ana Moura. Accompanied by 3 musicians when Prince saw her, Ana was a template as well as Esperanza for Prince’s new approach to performance. But there's still no news how and where to get tickets! Neither on the montreaux site nor on lotusflow3r... Respectively there's nothing in the Swiss media as of today... [Edited 7/1/09 5:53am] Get sexy sex, get funky at...
