anywho... since other acts are charging between 75 and 250CHF, I'm guessing Prince will charge the same... But, as others have said, best to just wait and see...

No, it isn't. Perhaps it's because I am from a different geographical region, or that my french is not top-notch (au contraire!), or...

PLAY ON WORDS: MONTREUX: MONTRES LEUR, MONTRE EUX: COULD BE: SHOW THEM
BUT IT'S ONLY A CITY IN SWITZERLAND, MAYBE HE LIKES THE WORD??? rolleyes OR JUST THE PLACE FAMOUS FOR IT'S JAZZ FESTIVAL.

Yes. Floor (standing) cost CHF129 in 2007, CHF259 were for the seats in the balcony.

I suppose 86 euros isn't too bad, that is roughly what the 2003 Australian shows cost, they were about A$170 and the exchange is basically 2:1 ...

but still how much will they have gone up since then ?

I am getting scared this 515 figure is getting more and more likely....

I will go, I just hope that he announces it quickly as hotel booking prices get higher the later we book.

A Google search pointed out that last time in 2007, he announced it July 6, which is a bit late confused

That was deliberately announced late then because he was the SPECIAL SURPRISE ACT in 2007... This year it could be a bit earlier indeed...

see next to some (most) of the acts playing at the festival, it says "swiss exclusivity"

what does this mean? do you have to be in switzerland to get tickets? will this be the same for prince?

It means they're not playing in Switzerland this year except in Montreux.

Lol, you actually quoted XNY's post. Purplecorvette accidently forgot to add a quote-link and that's why it looks like it's her quote. It can be so confusing sometimes with misquoting confuse

This is how the post actually should look like :

I won't ask you to point out Switzerland on the map.
Nor will I ask you to point out Amsterdam on the map.
Or Baghdad. Or Cape town.
I suppose you know where these are.
So I am wondering about your assumptions about Montreux.

Care to elaborate?

I know where all those are(thanks for not asking)...not as dumb as I look.

Montreux is the french side of switzerland and nearer to france, so you are not wrong for thinking that. Switzerland also boarders with Germany and italy, so that speak all three languages.
