My signature says it all.....what a fantastic nite, and morning!!! Up on the train from Cornwall on the afternoon of the concert, dinner with my bro, then us catching the tube to Greenwich, and seeing the awesome sight of the O2, entering the O2 browsing the merchandise stand, up the stairs, vodka, finding our seats (up in the gods), butterflies in the tum, toilet break, vodka, lights go down,,,,from then on just heaven...another world...can't explain in words(you know what I mean.....)piano solo of Adore, Shhh, Sometimes it Snows... Traipse downstairs after mainshow, vodka(again)in bar, sit outside watching queue for aftershow. Show tkts at door of Indigo, more vodka, stand around in front of DJ booth for hr & half, lights go down, everyone looks at stage, Mr Nelson stands next to us with his bodyguards and says(see below)....I nearly faint, my brother picks me up in time to see P emerge on stage on a sexy turquoise suit & huge shades....and the rest is a blur of bliss!!!!! God I can't wait till Dublin!!!! Yippee!!!!! excited

Where to start, well lying in bed reading the paper and seeing 'Prince at the O2', you've never seen anyone getting out of bed so fast - flew to the computer, rang the hubby all breathless - he was like "what? who? oh ok I suppose so!" Got great tix on Ticketmaster for 7 August, few rows away from the stage. First time I'd seen him live, it took me about 10 minutes just to get my head round it, kept thinking 'it's really Prince, it's really Prince'!!! He was so funny that night, I was surprised, thought he'd be fantastic but 'aloof'!

Purple Rain blew me away - time stood still, and was just a trick and all that - absolute heaven, especially when he put his hand on his heart half way through and said "I LOVE this song"!

Well, I had to go back, got tix for 6 Sept, Row B!!!!! razz I was SO close, it was a brilliant show, started with 'Dearly Beloved' 1999 and just went bang bang bang! I will never forget the end, he did that 'humble' look, looked up to thank God and then held the palms of his hands out towards us, I thought I was going to melt.

Then the aftershow - my sister in law thought it was a Prince tribute band at first because she just couldn't believe it could actually be Prince in such a small venue! As B3xy says above - incredible show, SHOE was amazing, and Chelsea Rogers at the end - the place errupted, and I honestly thought I had died and gone to heaven. Oh, also made eye contact with the man himself for a few seconds during Anotherlover.....bliss....scary.....

Then sailing home on the last boat.... only about 10 of us, gazing back at the O2 all lit up purple and London so eerily quiet.....just one of those once in a lifetime nights.

PS The hubby came away RAVING about how good he was, best he's ever seen, amazing guitarist, amazing performer, seems like a really nice bloke, how could he not have paid attention to him before etc..... SUCCESS!

I went on August 17th and Sept 21st to both main shows and aftershows. Long treck to get there both days, but well worth it. The 17th seems a bit of a blur coz I just couldnt believe I was there! Hadnt seen him since Dublin in 2002. So by Sept 21st I was really prepared for it! My best friend and I danced for the whole concert - so much my pants almost fell off - kept hitting this nice fella beside me over the head with my array of purple glowsticks, but we just couldnt help ourselves. Then onto the 21st afterparty - absolutely brilliant - what a memory!!! I was a mess walking back to the hotel - by that stage my hair was so frizzy from all the dancing and sweating, Marva had competition!! Mind you, its not such a good look on a redhead!!! Fell into bed at the Express Inn at about 5am where we watched the SKY footage falling asleep covered in goosebumps and a tear or two in our eyes!!! ROLL ON DUBLIN!!!!

He certainly did - great gig! And NPGMC members got in free! It was in a nightclub called 'Spirit' on Abbey Street, just off O'Connell St.

Fingers crossed there's one this time round.

I know what you're saying biggrin - I'm sure you'll find out from here about any aftershow. I'm not too sure about Spirit this time round though (it's changed it's name since) as it's very central. Maybe too many fans would turn up.

The shows at the O2 made my year!

I went to 4 main shows and 1 aftershow; on the 01/08 (112), 07/08 (116), 31/08 (C3), 09/09 (110) and 09/09 (Balcony) aftershow, the whole experience was just wonderful in so many ways.

I only moved back to London 2 years ago so to have the luxury of only a short tube ride to see Prince was fantastic and just made me want to go as many times as I could, I was on a different planet when it was confirmed that he was playing in London!

I took my girlfriend to 3 of the shows, she was a total concert virgin and a Prince one too, 2 months before the shows started I filled her iPod up and made her listen to Prince so she would at least know some songs, although she hates to admit it she is a complete fan now and is secretely really excited about making the trip to Ireland to see him again!

A week before the 9th I was visiting my brother who now lives in Cambridge and we all had dinner and was talking about the shows and he, who has also never been to a concert before said he would love to go and even admited to wanting to see Prince, so my partner kindly said that he could go with me on the 9th. So the 9th came and my brother came down to stay with me and go to the concert, my brother has a couple of kids and does not get out much so it was cool to see him hang out and be away from his "environment". He totally loved the show we had dinner before hand and drank a load of beer and on our way out he said he needed the loo so I waited for him and he returned with aftershow tickets! WOW!

The aftershow was a new experience for me having never been to one, only to have read about them and listened to them. It turned out to be one of the best that he did so I have read, and the fact that I was there totally unplanned was so lucky. Prince played for hours and played some of my favourite songs.

I miss the feelings and experience so much, for years wanting Prince to return to the UK and finally it taking place in London on my doorstep! A year I will never forget and always cherish.

My face on the first night I'd ever seen him. My wife still laughs and says I looked like a little boy, shouting "It's Prince! It's Prince!" at everybody about me.

My huge disappointment with Let's Go Crazy. The huge rush at hearing how hard and funky Controversy is live.

The outburst of tears and sorrow when we got back into bed after my first nights no-show aftershow. My insides had been torn apart that night. It was not great I can tell you.

Booking tickets for the next time. Managed to get Gold and aftershow. Real close to the stage, fantastic view, first time for my daughter, Prince turned up at the aftershow and my daughter got in! Hugging everyone at the aftershow like I used to during my house/E days. The same rush but without the drugs! Awesome.

My daughter feeling sick at the aftershow as she was so hungry but there was nowhere to get food sad It stopped her from dancing too sad

The last night. Terrible tickets, no aftershow tickets. Grateful to see him but oh so very very sad to be so far away. The whole performance was tainted with sorrow. Ungrateful perhaps but couldn't help but feel the way I did.

Eating some dodgy burger outside the O2 from the burger stall in the wee hours of the morning. Everyone looking like zombies.

Saying hi to the guy from the States who was in black and silver. He was one funky mother fucker! smile

Cheekily jumping the taxi queue at 4am. I had two girls to protect!

The O2. Great place!

Prince's music. Sent from Heaven.

It's all about the burgers!!! ha ha

For me personally, the aftershow was incredible. It was at first the whole, will he won't he and the build up was awesome, you just never knew if he would show and when he came out it was like the biggest rush of excitement, but then you worry how long he would stay for!! But luckily he stayed for over 3 hours. My favourite song in there was Joy In Repetition for sure, that is such an awesome song and so intense, you can tell he plays it with such passion.

The main show, my best part was when we had floor tickets and when he came out for the final encore me and my partner were right behind him and his keyboard, to be so close was a real buzz for me. Favourite song in the main shows, I would have to say controversy.

All I can say about getting on stage is, "Don't do it if you're white or thinking you're an X Factor wannabe!"

Actually please do as it gives us something to laugh at whilst you're making a tit of yourself and Prince is aping you.

Some white girl on the one night was grooving down to the floor with Prince and to be honest she looked like a complete nobhead. Oh my how we laughed. And grimaced a little too.

But back to the good things (if they aren't) one of the most fun parts of all the shows was jumping up and down. Sounds stupid for a 36 year old bloke and his missus to be doing but by fuck it was great! Prince shouts "Jump up and down!" and everybody in the place does! Excellent wink

Also Shelby stared at me whilst I had my hands up in the air dancing and it was a brief connection where two people smiled at each other and knew just how great a time the one was having. I guess that's part of her job but it was a great moment anyway smile How sad am I?
