* Gotta add the Wonderful World sax solo on 4th August that took the whole arena's breath away! Prince wasn't on stage so we were expecting a mild interlude, but the solo that Mike Philly (?) hit with Renato backing him on keys in a pitch black arena with just two spotlights on them was so powerful it brought a lump to my throat and everyone on their feet for a standing ovation!! An unexpected delight.

* 4th Aug...first ever Prince concert and he opens with Lets Go Crazy, appearing on stage in a fog of dry ice backed by a big white light, "Dearly beloved..." it was just like seeing the movie Purple Rain brought to life before. I couldn't have asked for a better opening!

I was only able to go to the last night, but I did get an aftershow ticket too and how glad I was!

I have been a fan since I was a teenager and to see him so close, in such a great environment with loads of other fans, was simply brilliant. I did go to some shows in the '90s but never ever got to be so close to the stage.

The whole aftershow was amazing, but my favourite moment was around 4am when he said 'We're gonna slow it down so ya'll don't go home on the bus with an attitude' and he then proceeded to blast out Anotherloverholenetc with his guitar sounding like an earthquake!! It was like the Stooges or something - there were actually people with their mouths open just staring - and I was one!

Even if i'd had to pay £500 for the ticket, it still would have been well worth it.

Thank you Prince, for staying so groovy for all these years. Long may you reign.

(This is my first post BTW!)
