Raspberry

I ended up at the front at Manchester, even though I was towards the back of the queue. Did exactly the same thing that Gav did. My ears are still ringing too.

There is always hysteria when it comes to how people deal with celebrity; and I have seen American reports that European fans act a bit overzealous about seeing celebrities in the flesh. In America we don't seem to have the same problem; probobly because Europeans have a media that almost deifies celebrity.

So, it is best to remember this when you go to see little maggot man, on the tour.

You Europeans are nuts, but I love ya. lol

You are all pathetic, sorry. sad

Queueing is normal in The Netherlands and Germany. I remember queueing for 2 days (or even more) for a Prince concert, even for tickets before the internet tickets. If you're a fan you are queueing. If not, you're not a fan. What are the reasons people can not queue:

1. You cannot get off from work, etc. Bull, if you're a fan, you can. What you say? "I can be fired" So!?

I remember a (Dutch) woman who followed the whole European Lovesexy tour (or was it the Nude tour) and her boss said no, so she quit her job. After the tour her boss took her back smile

2. You have health problems? Please queue, we will take care of you, everyone is welcome.

3. People want to be relaxed. Just go in at 7PM and walk to the front row. Please?!!? This is Rock & Roll!!! You have to suffer for being a Prince fan smile

I proberly know those Dutch people at the front row and they know me smile and I should also be there if I was not broke. Yes they do not dance, they did that in 1988 for the last time smile They try to follow the concert.

Cheers,

J

I`m sorry but that is crap it would be OK to queue if we were not members of the NPGMC.
You may say that it is normal for Dutch and Germans to queue but I believe (and apologies for the racial stereotype) but isn`t that what we British are famous for ? our abilty to queue ?

Where are the defenders of their actions??

I'll tell you where.

Probably already in the bloody queue at Manachester!

I agree, allocation is the best way. The allocation system on Thursday WOULD have worked, but the confusion arose because we were told different things.

For those that wern't there, when you collected your laminate and wrist band, you were given your tickets in a sealed envelope.

Obviously, those that had queued for hours were pissed off (and ignored the ticket numbers), but had they been told in advance. it would have worked.

The people who were pissed off, took the front, and were there on Friday and Saturday too.

If the NPGMC were to announce that tickets will now be allocated, randomly to NPGMC members, we'd get...

1. No queueing for the whole day
2. No favouritism between fans
3. Relaxed NPGMC crowd.
4. Get a drink, read the programme and chill
5. Get to chat to more fans
6. No one can get upset.
7. No one can bum rush your seat.
8. You can go to the toilet without risking your seat
9. We all still get a good "members only" view
10. Prince gets to see different faces!

Everyone wins! Except those trying to ensure they stop anyone else being down the front.

You make an excellent point squirrelmeat , but what if you booked tickets for 3 dates and ended up on row 15 every night ?
What if you went on line 2 hours before the pre sale and the server kept crashing so that you finally got tickets 2 days later ?
If I was NPGMC I wouldn`t be handle the abuse.

It`s alright thinking we are "VIPS" I genuinely thought I was one of a few hundred left in this country and therefore I thought NPGMC membership would entitle me to walk up and get a front row seat , I realised on the first night at London that this was not the case , what is the answer ?

I guarantee if it was allocated tickets we would have as many gripes.
(that said after feeling really knackered from a couple of long days I may change my mind)

I was at the Tuesday Manchester concert ansd I can safely say that the raffle ticket system was a bit of a farce.
I had number 50 something had to go to a phone box(no mobile as not allowed in concert) to check my daughter was ok got back and the queue had formed, I was about 100 people down the queue.

I did NOT ask people to move as I was there for the music, where ever I sat. But there was a lot of pushing and bitching.
Sad people.

When I was at Paisley Park for the celebration in June the raffle ticket sysytem was used then. However, numbers between 1 and 20 were then called forward etc... This did though cause people to "hold" seats fro friends.

I dont think there is an answer to this - people have just got to be happy with what they are given. This pushing and shoving was among the NPGMC mambers and they had guaranted places in the first 7 rows...
WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE???
