He has gone off to the aftershow as he had the day off tomorrow. Given the thu ashow wonder if he will be rewarded with another full show?

jonylawson don't do that to me!! I've just come back, and left after controversy. When I read 'Mountains' and 'Chelsea Rodgers' I actually swore out loud!

Gotta agree with others that it was a bit subdued tonight. He sang Adore beautifully but but only a few of the crowd recognised it.

BTW, there was someone who thought this being the first sunday show it might be a bit more spiritual. At the end of the piano solo (sometimes it snows..., I think), P pointed upwards and put his hands together as if in prayer.

Then during Purple Rain he sang "open up those scriptures and let God guide you" (or something like that). Someone said he sang "let God guide you" on Thursday as well which I must have missed, but he *definitely* sang those lines tonight.

Would have loved to have seen AATW / BOY - I listen to that almost every day from the superbowl performance.

It was good. Not great, but a solid 'good'.

The start tonight was incendiary but I felt he left some people gob-smacked. He played some ferocious guitar for a little bit too long.

After the piano segment though, the crowd was putty in his hands.

Was toying with TM tickets for tonight but decided against but now I've seen he's sung ADORE I think I made a BIG mistake - I hope he sings it again that song with forever in my life from SOTT mean so much to . I was lucky to be there on 14th to hear Forever in my life but please please please pray he does Adore again! ( genuinely welled up when I read that)

P.S thank you so much for live updating - almost as good as being there!

Without wanting to make you feel really bad, he had a ball with this song. Really teased the laydeez with it and sang it beautifully.

Great show, very different to the others I've seen! He played the first verse of She's Always In My Hair - I think that was mistaken for I Wanna Be Your Lover in one of the earlier posts.

I think these will both feature in full band form at the final show. Why else would he pass them by so much?

For me so far. This is the song of the tour.

It really has a beat of its own with the current band. Some songs just do that...

Yeah it was SAIMH and a welcome sound it was too. I love that track.

I think that's overdue the full treatment at one of the aftershows. I heard a snippet of it at one of them but it needs a good 6 minute treatment.

She's Always In My Hair & When Doves Cry - not bad for a medley eh? There was also a short burst of "Erotic City" in the samples medley too - some real Old School classics! I thought tonight was stunning, some superb guitar work from Prince, really, really enjoyed it, much better than the opening night. But where was Maceo? He wasn't playing tonight...has he left the tour? Not seeing him was my only disappointment tonight...

Tonight was great fun - and sooooo pleased to hear Baby I'm A Star (which actually started with the beginning of 1999), Adore and She's Always In My Hair - my jaw actually dropped when that began. But mostly - I finally managed to co-incide being in the arena when he chooses to play Strange Relationship! Woo!

Very odd beginning - Shelby and Marva in all white doing We Will Rock You - got the crowd going, but they weren't as good as many other nights I've seen. Most of block 111 were sitting down ALL NIGHT! Unbelievable.

Was in the second row of C3 thanks to a lovely orger - and had an absolutely ball dancing throughout with gc79. Heh. Quality. Right bunch of stiffs in front and behind us though.

Thought Shhh! tonight was absolutely killer and ending on Controversy was a great end.

Oh - and he did a chunk of DMSR as well in the sampler set - saying "I gotta play this one for myself". He also seemed to attempt to hump his keyboard stool quite dramatically tonight. LOL.

Kinda odd not having Cream, U Got The Look, Little Red Corvette or Nothing Compares 2 U in the set though. Am used to those now and thought they'd become staples....

Was possibly a cover too far tonight - but I really enjoyed his choice of tracks - especially Proud Mary / All Along The Watch Tower / Best Of You.
