Prince legally contracted to play every aftershow.......

Went to the O2 show last night and then the aftershow. Had a great time apart from been 2 hours late getting into london .

I went back to the O2 this morning to enquire about another event and heard a heavy bass going on from inside the arena. smile I got talking to a rep from O2 who asked me how last night (3rd) was. what i thought etc So i mentioned about the no show at the aftershow. The guy just shook his head.

He explained that Prince will have seriously p'eed off O2 and AEG as he is contracted to play at every aftershow, even if it's only an hour. The guy was smiling away about it because he said he liked the way Prince does stuff like that, annoying people in suits

I said he has to play every aftershow, the guy said yep that was the deal.
i mentioned that on 3121 it says that he may turn up , may not expect the unexpected etc
According to the O2 rep he shouldn't be saying that on 3121 as that is not what was agreed and the O2 would be very interested to read that, but he said that he wasn't going to mention it to the O2 bosses because he likes Prince's style too much

just thought i would pass that on and see what happens at the aftershows that are coming. I think if he is contracted to do them all and there is any truth to it, he will do one song and split thenwhen he's in the mood to play stay longer, that's my theory

My guess is the rep was either misinformed, didn't know his stuff or was deliberately misleading you. Isn't there a disclaimer on the aftershow tickets, the rep should know about this and he says that he didn't know about the speel on 3121 either. Plus how come he was so shocked to hear that Prince didn't turn up last night. You'd think this would've been brought to his attention unless the guy lives on Mars.

he wasn't at all shocked he was just shaking his head. There were members of staff stood around aswell all nodding saying that he should have played last night. His guitar was ready to go it was at the end of the stage and Prince was stage left in the gap but he disappeared. it will be interesting to see what happens. The impression is that the O2 staff seem to be very clear about Prince and what is required etc. The merchandise stall included, they were asked by Prince not to sell something because he didn't like it, don't what it was though.

He was there watching Dr John but there were too many people drunk in his opinion so he left. He was stage left.
